Well, it only took me more than a year to gather up the confidence, but I feel ready to ask someone out on a date again. The thing is unlike last time where she lived on campus, she now lives about 30-45 minutes away from me. In my standards with how frequently I go out places, that is a far distance to me.

So I am looking for ideas for something we could do on a date. The dinner and a movie one has been my go to, but I want to know if there are any other ideas that I could do.

Minigolf/crazygolf whatever its called where you are is nearly always a winner. It's something thats fun and different, a cinema and meal experience would just bore me. your main purpose here is to get to know that person not to see a film so i would avoid dates like that or leave them for second , third dates etc.

You'll probably have a laugh and have fun even if the date unfortunately leads no where or just to friendship. Myself and lots of people i know would prefer something like then the classic set up. By all means go for a milkshake after or a meal.

It can be other stuff like Pool, or bowling but i find mini-golf is a gem of a first date for a lot of people.

Minigolf had been something that was suggested to me before. I wasn't sure how well it worked since I never heard of any peers of mine talking about a date like that. I'll see if it is doable though.

For clarification, I know this person already. I've known her for about two years now if that makes any difference.

no i don't think it makes much of a difference, a first date still needs to be memorable, one you can have fun and a laugh at so your your heading in the right direction in doing something different. it can be easier for most people to date someone you already know.

but what i will say is with you knowing her for two years, make sure she knows this is a date your on about not just a general hangout

Take your tablet to a restaurant of their choosing, put it opposite you.
