I am a straight, cis-gendered man who grew up without any extended family within a 14-hour plane ride, and no sisters.

Suppose that the following statements are about guys without sisters. Do you find them to be true?

1. It is harder for a guy without sisters to understand girls. (T/F)
2. These guys will have few to no female friends because they don't understand girls. (T/F)
3. But deep inside, they yearn for female friends who will console them like a sister. (T/F)
4. In the guy's mind, the only type of girl who can be like a sister is a tomboy, because they understand guys, because they think like guys. (T/F)
5. These guys without sisters search long and hard until they find that rare, sisterly tomboy. They immediately become best friends, and the guy instantly develops a crush on the tomboy. (T/F)
6. Suppose that while the guy doesn't have sisters, his favorite cousin is a tomboy, but he doesn't see her very often. But the tomboy cousin is the closest thing he has to a sister. So he misses her alot, and has crushes on every tomboy he befriends, because they remind him of his cousin. (T/F)
7. This guy wants a tomboy wife who can be the sister he's always wanted. (T/F)
8. Do numbers 6. and 7. sound creepy? Is that romance driven by incest?

I don't mind tomboys; I've had a few of them as girlfriends.

I don't have any cousins--since both my parents are only children.

I don't have a sister.

The closest thing I had to a woman in my life growing up was a cousin, who lived in another province and was 6 years younger. My mother nor her sisters are feminine in any way, shape or form.

If there is one type of woman I did not find the least bit attractive it was tomboys. I tended to like hanging around girls growing up (feeling was not mutual) and tended to seek out feminine women to befriend, as did my grandfather. I have no idea why that is but to imply us sister-less straight men are attracted to tomboys is nonsense. As well, my wife's sister is my age and I tend to get along with her with no problems at all even with my inexperience.

I might find it tough to understand women, but I struggle even more to understand men.
