Mine are:

-Coffee shop

-Beach

-Lake

-Book Store

-Zoo

-Movie- preferrably if at time when there isn't that many people.

-Nature trail

-Museum

....Yeah I'm boring but I get nervous around annoying lights and too much activity going on. Plus I love books, museums, movies, animals, nature....they'd have to have some of these same interests as me. :nerdy:

Your turn!

The hell would I know? I can't even get women... this is three steps ahead of me...

Although I know what the incredibly romantic date would be for me... Just the two of us, outside on a cool late spring/early summer night, lying down on a grassy field somewhere staring up at a clear night sky, in a close embrace... Granted, I'm only talking about something romantic and not necessarily crossing the line into sex on that, but the feeling that it's just the two of us, with everything else all falling away until it's just us and the sky above us... wow... I just amazed myself at how much of a hopeless romantic I am...

Of course, being in the greater NYC area hampers the ability to see the night sky, and finding a sufficiently remote place for that kind of activity...

@Toad

Doesn't have to cross the line of sex or anything.

Doesn't have to be with someone you are currently dating right now. I mean I'm not dating or anything these are just ideas.

And there's no such thing as a hopless romantic or unromantic when it comes to your own world....just so people here don't think they need to make a list of where they think or how a date SHOULD go in our sheeple minds of social constructs.

Hmmm, you have some very interesting ideas. As for myself, I would pick the following places:

-A museum

-An authentic Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Chinese, Greek, or Thai restaurant, something with a nice atmosphere where I could enjoy a nice glass of Cabernet Souvignan, Merlot, Chianti, or Shiraz ;)

-A movie

-A putt putt course

-Go-karting perhaps

-An arcade (lol, I'm just kidding about that one)

-A bookstore (I would consider this for a further date, once we really have begun to know each other).

Hmmm, MissC pretty much nailed all of mine especially book store and coffee shop (I know a place that is a book store and a coffee shop in one place) :D

Here are mine that aren't on the list:

library

mini golf place (ah, already listed)

park

video game store (which we all know a lot of women frequent right  )

a drive in movie

basically any place that we both agree to go to and can have fun at. :)

All I really care about is that we have fun together and have time for romance. :P

I forgot about those drive-in movies.

Those are FUN, especially on a nice weather.

For me, being outside is really my idea of romantic.

^ Yeah, I think it is too. Should I ever meet someone, one thing I would like to do with her is take a walk through the woods alone and see nature. Maybe go hiking and take a plunge in a crystal clear lake. Nature itself is romantic!

Absolutely, when the world is cold and unfriendly, there is nothing more relaxing and enjoyable than to fantasize about how the perfect date would go and what you would do.

Even romantic malcontents like us have some notion of what the perfect date or date location might be. We are only malcontents because we haven't felt romantic love and therefore feel the need to lash out in our anger and disappointment. However, what is the harm in a little fantasy and role playing? (mind you I mean role playing in the sense of picturing of how the perfect date might go, I'm not alluding to anything of a sexual nature )

I like the idea of a walk in the woods or countryside, I have been to such places in the past with a young lady.

How about taking her for a evening of dancing (ballroom, latin or folk). If you know your date knows how to and you know how to then it could be a good one.

Social_Fantom, you're a devious devil for mentioning the park, lol. I KNOW all about those bushes, trees, and various shrubbery that couples hide underneath or behind to make out and perhaps do a little bit more :P

But good suggestions, although I would find it terribly difficult to be romantic in a library. You might get thrown out of there if you do ANYTHING besides reading books and hanging out on the Internet :P

^ Oh trust me, anything devilish I would do, bushes cannot hold.

I don't know, library just kind of came out. You might could make out quietly though in a section that doesn't get a lot of attention.

Book stores & antique stores
Sushi
Walking
Music stores
Spectacular forests... (Zion, Sedona, Redwoods, et al)
Canoeing

Yes, and the librarian will surely kick you out if your date's moaning is loud enough to disturb people who are trying to read or study

Not to sound cocky but I don't think it would be very quiet so you're probably right.
