Out of curiosity.

Apparently:

Mind: Very strong
Health: Good
Career: Great
Personality: Way, way too strong which apparently causes:

Love: Terrible

She didn’t tell me anything new except for the career, which I expected “average“.

Apparently I need to tone down my personality to keep relationships. Though I don’t think I feel comfortable doing that. I’m not going to turn into a bland, weak and simpering woman because men want to feel more masculine.

Men tend to like the opposite of me: feminine, less intelligent than them and un-worldlier than them and co-dependent, so it’s like elements men have which cannot change.

I then asked the palm reader how she knows this and told her I don’t plan on getting married. :P

That's the right attitude. After following different relationships from both close and far, I've come to the conclusion that no relationship must be way better than a bad relationship.

I agree. And being someone you’re not is hell on earth. She’s wrong about that, I simply need a man who can handle me. There is one aspie guy I talk to who can handle my personality, but he is married and I’m not interested anyway.

A "palm"reader can feel your personality by observing you and how you act and behave during the session.

If you are a direct personality, talk shortly and seem firm, well, that says lots about your mind.

If you sit up straight, have good skin without any blemishes, no rings under your eyes (etc), that tells about your health.

If you wear fine clothes and well - flew to hong-kong and paid a palm reader, have the latest version of iPhone, that says lots about your career.

If you do not have a ring on your finger, no picture of family in your wallet, go alone into the place with no husband waiting outside (etc), that says lots about your personality and love life.

Most people have problems with their lovelife, and in some cases "palm" readers make statistically safe assumptions. Even if they are wrong, you've already given them your money.

It is nothing magical about it, it is called intuition and being a good judge of character.

I’m not implying the palm reader has any magical powers. It was an interesting experience, though.

For the record though, none of those things you said apply to me. I wear $10 clothes from kmart.

Yeah I agree with her. Personally as a guy I do not find your personality very attractive to me. That and your general attitude towards men.

I've never been to a palm reader, but going to psychics is something many women I know have done and enjoyed.
I don't think tone down your personality means become the opposite of yourself, more so a softening in your communication of any hard lines you might have, but I agree that no relationship is better than a bad one.

I know the advice wasn't directed at me, but I think that I too should probably try that, too... not with guys I want a romantical relationship with, but with people I need to interract with at work and such. But how does one do that? Any specific advice?

The first exercise to do, is to....bow before me and tell me "Yes, Boo Master! O Great Boo Master!" - that would be a good start for mental taming.

I've been told this so many times it's not funny. I came to the conclusion eventually that I just -appear- eccentric and overbearing to people because of my Aspie traits - basically my mind works differently and I follow slightly different social rules. Also intelligence is a factor - even if you hide it, it'll come out after a while and you have to tread carefully so as not to ... step on people's toes

So, no. I don't think you should ever change. The only thing you should do is be self aware and conscious of how you're make others feel so as not to offend or discount someone else's experience. Maybe you already do this, but I had to learn this the hard way
