Has anyone else ever invented an imaginary boyfriend/girlfriend?

This might be a better in another forum, such as Relationships/In-depth,The Haven, etc.

Does making character for my stories count?
I don't put myself in them, but I give the main character a girlfriend, does that count?
I also give the character's friends.
These technically are imaginary friends/girlfriends/boyfriends

I've had dreams that I'm with a sexy woman then I find out that it was a dream!

Never done this.

I have taken a real person and made him a daily part of my life in my imagination. I hate it. It hurts. I'm doing everything I can to focus on my real life, but there he is. And I hardly ever see the real guy, so I know much of what is in my head is imaginary.

I have an imaginary GF.

Maybe an encouragement and reshaping coach, not necessarily ever a significant other though - it would bother me too much on self-examination.

Is she hot? Does she love you?

I don't think I've ever done this. I've daydreamed about romance with many people I felt affections for, but that's about the extent of it...

No, because I could never believe she was real. But I've certainly invented a dream girl. >.< It's not healthy, and it's best to just not feed such obsessions....

Haven't done this, but have thought about how to go about getting a fake relationship set up w/ a real person who needed the same thing.

I did something very similar to this when I was in 8th grade. I printed and cut out a picture of a character from an anime and carried it around with me. I took it kind of seriously but I actually presented it to people as a joke.

Then this jerk took it and flushed it down the toilet. It was ok though - he's had plenty of karmic comeuppance. Like all his 'friends' completely despising him by the time he was in 12th grade.

I've also become completely obsessed with fictional characters. In a most vivid example, I spent months in mourning over the death of Aeris in FFVII when I was in 10th grade. There is no other way to describe it. I had never felt emotions so strong before in my life, and I still have not.

I know you're just enjoying getting back, but he's a real person and sounds like he was suffering, and maybe still is. If he's not aspie, maybe it's something else. Careful, please. Thanks.
