I have a problem with women who say these words in the title, because experience proved to me over and over again that many who claim this turn out that they do care, like for example I got this from some before, then when they see I am very short then they’re like “oh you’re too short” ... oh but I thought appearance didn’t matter?

Why I feel so strongly that anyone saying those words isn’t being honest at all? The feeling of dihonesty irks me greatly.
Is it something cultural to say? Like a kind of cliché?

Maybe they're deluding themselves to think appearance doesn't matter to them when in reality it does. It really doesn't matter to some people thou. I'm sure I've said something similar in my posts on here at least a few times & it really doesn't matter to me. Two of my 3 girlfriends that I've had were not conventionally pretty but to me they were the prettiest women in the world. But then again I'm sort of demisexual & have bad vision so I'm probably a rare exception.

It’s said to make them look better.
No one would date, kiss, and have sex with someone they find unattractive minus scam artists.
I find most women attractive but I wouldn’t date the ones I don’t find attractive.

It's called prosopagnosia. It's estimated 2.5% of the population have it. My husband does.

I won't speak for the women on dating sites but first of all, most of people are not autistic and they don't mean literally what they say.

While I do have some preferences about the man's looks (not necessarily the stereotypical ones), there are other qualities I find way more important. Maybe they mean something like that. Maybe. I know less than you about the women on dating sites.
