I'm technically not married but me & Cass both take our relationship very seriously & we would of been marred years ago if it wouldn't screw up her benefits cuz we're both disabled. We've been living together for 6 & a half years now.

My relationship is getting to the point where I should be worrying more about logistics of marriage. I really think we should try living together first though. I think he needs to experience 24-7-365 Full-Frontal-Fern, so that he knows what he's really getting himself into.

I guess it mostly depends on the person you have married. You spend most of your free time with this person and have an outlook of even more of it.

Nobody is perfect.

Marriage sucks sometimes.

But marriage is good sometimes.

You have to make sure you want to live with your mate.

I married my best friend. So for me it’s kinda like sharing a bed with my sister (we’re both an only-child), except not creepy and nobody cares if we have sex. Other than that, it’s like a 24/7 sleepover. Never gets old!

I am not married, but I find the wording of the poll odd.

How can you be unsure about whether or not you're married?

Haha! You have just discovered my humour. I was almost married once though. Had a near miss there.

Maybe some live in places that have common-law marriages & aren't sure if they've been living together as an official couple long enough :? Me & cass would be considered common-law married in about half a year cuz the time frame in Vermont for common-law marriage is 7 years. However Cass would have major problems living alone cuz of her various issues. She lived alone for a year & she was basically catatonic at times. I'm officially classified as her live-in-aid/caretaker. It was a way for us to get around her benefits getting screwed up. She was also given wrong information by someone from her Section 8 & was told that we could only have a one bedroom apartment. Complicated story but me being her caretaker was originally a way for us to get a two bedroom place under her housing benefits. I am her caretaker in a sense if you look at it from a certain point of view. Her docs & psychs signed off on it cuz they know she cant handle living alone.

You are so fortunate to find yourself someone you love. :) I am so glad for the both of you. Is a shame the system means you both are not married. We have similar issues here in the UK where being married is a dissadvantage.. It should not be.

I see, you just meant for this to be a thread about marriage and added the poll as a joke to spice it up.

I probably would have gotten it in person!

Thanx. I know I'm very lucky  We do have our problems sometimes thou but we both believe in trying to work things out as best we can. No relationship is perfect. Yeah the system sux in some ways. I didn't know it was like that in the UK too but I guess I'm not surprised cuz it seems like there's issues/problems everywhere.
