The lies you've been told

Specifically in romantic relationships.

One guy told me he was 26 when I was 18. We only dates for a few months. I bumped into him years later and randomly asked "so how old are you now?" and he told me "26"... yeah.. I have a suspicion he was never 26.. he always looked older

I met this other guy on holiday and he convinced me to stay in a long distance relationship after I left. Then one day I see him post a poem he wrote on Facebook (he was a poet ) and the poem describes in detail how he made out with some girl at a party. I was like "ummm wtf?" and he told me that "oh no, I wrote that poem from the perspective of my friend who kissed a girl at a party last night" ¬_¬ suuuure, that's how writing poetry works...

Oh and one guy lied about his whole personality! He read that book - "The Game" I think it's called and basically seduced me by pretending to be this mysterious intellectual philosopher type, but as soon as we started dating, he completely changed and became really childish and annoying. Even his tone of voice changed! It was the most bizzare experience

I've been told things like "I only like you as a friend" or "Lets just be friends" & then they latter got mad when I made comments about liking someone else or trying to find someone. I really do NOT understand that playing hard-to-get cr@p. This is exactly why I'm much better off in a realtionship with another Aspie instead of an NT. I'm too straightforward & direct for that sh!t.

1. "Dylan and I broke up weeks ago." (They were still dating.)
2. "I'm 21 and studying at XYZ University." (She was 17 and in high school. )
3. "I'm 36." (She was 42.)
4. "She's my flatmate." ( They were lovers. )
5. "I work in an office." ( She was a prostitute. )
6. "I'll always be honest with you." (This one's obvious. )

#2 and #3 happened in the same year.

He said he’d kill me (for y and z) but I’m still here.

Any deceit is a huge red flag because it’s indicative of manipulative behavior which can escalate.

More lies:

"I'll pay it back, I promise!"

"He's just my ... umm ... cousin ..."

"I love you."

“I own you.”

“It won’t happen again.”

Saying that a specific bill was much higher than it was to get money out of me.

I should probably stop now.

"Go ahead! Leave me! See if I care! I never want to see you again!"

Not a direct lie, but somebody failed to tell me that she was only interested in me for sex. Understandable as only guys are supposed to act like that. She only told me later, after having developed feelings for me, whereas by then I was ready to leave her.

"My ex-boyfriend is going to come over when you're at work. We're friends now and just want to catch up."

"Just make all of you child-support payments and there'll be no trouble."

Any number of absurdly untrue derogatory words.

"you're my bestfriend,my best guy and my best partner..I don't want to lose you."

"..baby as long as that you're in my heart , no man can take me away from you.."


Said it on 3rd of January, she started cheating on 4th of January.

"I have a headache."
