Jealousy, concern over your judgment, because a lot of male friends find f*****g with their friends to be a way of expressing friendship.

I'm sure others can come up with additional explanations.

Primates do the same thing. It's just competing for the females, it's an alpha male stud thing I suppose. It can be verbal or manipulative or combative in humans.
