There is sort of a trend with the short lived relationships I’ve had the last few years. I’ve had crushes on girls younger and older than me, but all of my previous girlfriends have been about 2-2.5 years younger than me. It’s been more than 3 years since I actually “dated” someone who was in my grade. Of course, it’s not that I wouldn’t date someone the same age or older than me; I’ve tried my luck with them over the years, but they’re just not interested. I didn’t actually date this one girl, but it’s a story worth bringing up:

3 years ago, I had first met this girl who was 2 and a half years younger than me at a gathering for my best friends(at the time)family and her mom was there too, for that matter. Several months later, I asked her if she wanted to hang out. She wanted to, but her mom said no, and called me a “dork”(this was just based off of one encounter  ). She later told me, “my mom wouldn’t allow it, otherwise I would. I really would”.

A few months after this occurred, I met the girl who’s parents did us dirty.

So with all that in mind, I’ve started to think that in a few years when the girls who are in HS right now are out and free from their parents I might have better luck finding someone than I do now. Anyone think this would be the case?

Quite possibly. Age gaps seemed so much larger when I was in high school. 3 or 4 years age gap when in your 20's isn't much, in your 30's it's practically nothing.
