I'm not sure how silly this question is... But I know it can be an ASD thing to be sensitive to temperature. So I'd be grateful for your thoughts on this: Do you ever experience that you're feeling different towards your romantic partner during a heat wave?

I'm trying to figure out if I don't feel love anymore or if I'm misinterpreting how much I can take and feel in the heat (on top of the usual noises and lights plus a lack of sleep due to the heat.)

And this forum is really the only place I feel comfortable asking that.

There are many reasons to consider of course, and I do that. But I'm curious if someone else might actually have some thoughts on the relationship between love and an overheated body/brain :D

Don't know about love but my lust increases.

Idk if that's an aspie thing or just a human thing or even just a thing all animals go through.

What has upset you about your partner, Elenore?

It could be that the heat wave has rendered you more irritable. Do you have air-conditioning where you are?

I imagine there’s a strong correlation, Eleonore. Here in the UK we’re having a blistering heatwave and friends/family have descended to stay with me, to cool down! The heat is getting to everyone! We’re all using humour, swimming lots and having bbqs etc ... the nights are sooo hot! Was still in the pool at 2.30am this morning! hehe Hottest since 1961 in terms of number of days over 33 Celcius consecutively without letting up. I remember it being like this in Connecticut one Summer. Florida heat I love as it’s just like where I grew up in Australia .... you have to have a pool though ... air conditioning is not something we have hear in the UK, but couldn’t be without it in the US.

Relationships can definitely be affected by the heat, absolutely. I’m not having those issues personally, but can totally understand how that could happen. Some people are not sleeping well and are easily irritated with the heat. I’m more like kt67, from what she’s written. :)

I’m going to bed after midnight, alot of the time I take Benadryl, I can itch anyway. When I was in a relationship, there were ALOT of the days in the summer when I wasn’t feeling well.

I feel more comfortable when it is colder.

Cold rainy nights with a thunderstorm is perfect for an amorous adventure. ;)

Where are you in the world? :D

32°C in Tel Aviv.

We people who live in hot climates are very amorous and hot-blooded.

I'll take a snow storm and a roaring fire over a thunderstorm every time.

i'd melt. i can't function well much above about 70F. i lose my mental and physical energy. i live in the great green pacific northwest surrounded by lakes, streams, rivers and ocean inlets. in the military i had heat stroke from working in a 120F+ warehouse for too long. since then i can't take the heat.
