There is a gas station just a quick drive from my house and a month ago and I saw a pretty lady who appears to be around my age working there. Since then I’ve gone in there a handful of times out of curiosity to see if she’s there and I have seen her three times since that first meeting. All three of those times she has told me that she remembers me. I have seriously considered just giving her a slip of paper with my number on it as soon as the next time I see her because I’ve seen things that suggest that it’s not unheard of for this sort of thing to work out perfectly. Because of all the mixed opinions I’ve heard about all things dating, there seems to be no exact right way to do things. Nonetheless, I want to hear some opinions on this before I try this.

Never know until you try.

If you want sonething more prosaic, 'a chance meeting has great meaning'.

This method might work on some people. It's probably dependent on a lot of factors, but if you don't try you'll never know.

My first real girlfriend was someone who worked in a shop and I fancied the pants off her but never thought she liked me and was overly friendly as part of her job ( spotting flirting not my strong point ).

Years later we met in a pub and she felt exactly the same way and we hit it off. She was perfect and we got engaged but there was always that nagging comment from Ferris Bueller that Cameron would marry the first girl he laid , I broke of the engagement and the relationship because of this - I'm an ass :clown:

What I'm trying to say is carpe diem dude.

Depending on her scheduled work day, she may get to have a 1/2 hour or hour lunch. Ask her this and then offer to take her to lunch. After lunch, ask her to give you a call if you still like her. Don't just give her a slip of paper with your number on it...it's cheesy (cheap).

I would say go for it too.

You will never know and if you don't get the girl this time it will be good practice.

I wish you had more time to talk to her.

How about asking her name, and whether you could “friend” her on Facebook.

So in retail when a boss hires a "pretty" staff member one the requirements of customer relations is "small talk" when they know a customer is a regular. This ensures a rapport is developed and its good for return business. Its classic training for bartenders to talk to regular customers so they feel good and return again.

I have lost count the number of pretty girls who work in my local shopping centre who see me every 2nd day buying groceries. Over the years I have got to know them by name and what they do in their free time, what they study in university etc...It's their job to engage customers.

Attractive females working in retail are generally good at this particularly with male customers

He won’t know until he makes a move.

Its a sliding scale Kraftie....the more attractive the client services staff...the less likely they are going to be single

If the OP has to get petrol there regularly he shouldn't hit on her because it will be awkward every time he goes back if she says "no thanks".

Its a gas station in Iowa though. Have you been to Iowa?

Small town gas station attendants aren't super trained in customer service IMAO.

Is this the part of Iowa where there is only one gas station for tens of miles around?
