I think intelligence is a big turn on for me. If you are into geeky stuff then I will probably feel like I have to like you. I dont really go for the extroverted types, I just want to do the things I am interested in with people I am familiar with.

I have a thing for both them and conventionally attractive popular types. You can imagine how difficult it is to appeal to both :P

The short answer, Yes.

That is quite appealing. The awkward part is the amount of time it takes to become familiar.
That being said, it is also appealing when they have their own unique personal interest that I know little about, their personal thing which fires the light that gets in their eyes.

We agree on this, too.
I like tomboys, also. 8)

Yes. It's because I'm a nerd and all of my female friends have been nerds.

I'm probably the only one on here who would say this but in general I actually find intelligence kind of a turn off. I'm ret*d compared to lots of people. I struggled majorly in school, I'm not great with technology, I am not street smart, I do not have great social intelligence, & I do not have great emotional intelligence. I was bullied aLOT in elementary school partly for those reasons & people tend to not take me seriously as an adult partly for those reasons. People sometimes get frustrated with me for not understanding things. A person who tends to be a bit smarter than me with lots of things would likely not take my opinion, input, & advice seriously within a romantic relationship because she would believe that she knows better. I find things others consider dumb very funny & some stupid things can be quite cute in a romantic partner. I would be attracted to the stereotyped dumb blond type if they were not superficial & they would not need to be hot or look conventionally attractive for me to find em funny & cute. That said, I have some nerdy characteristics. I value the importance of science even if I may not understand it. I believe global warming is a very serious thereat. I believe in evolution instead of creationism. I believe the earth is round & not flat. I believe all lives are valuable, not just people but also animals & plants. Some other nerdy characteristics I have are that I am socially awkward. I like comedy music. I wore very thick coke-bottle glasses when I was in school & my vision still majorly s#cked; I don't wear glasses at home or going out cuz they make my close vision worse & my distance vision is only slightly better; I just wore glasses for school, work, & going to the movies. I guess I'm much more of a d0rK than a nerd or even a geek. That said, when I was single I would of been very willing to have a relationship with a nerdy type if she would of respected me.

Nerdy-type here...At a time when it was not popular to be one...I was Valedictorian of my 8th grade class...Ranked First academically in High School...Used to spend lunch-time doing homework at school library accompanied by Asian nerds with great study habits, all of whom were on the honor roll (Me, the only Mexican-American) :D ...I am still embarrassed to admit that my closest friends called me "Walking Brain"...Graduated with distinction both from college and university, which is higher than honors...Majored in Legal Studies and specialized in Civil Litigation on a paralegal capacity...

In my college years, i used to hang-out with smart, funny, and popular male friends...With one of which i connected on an intellectual level...What i called 'a meeting of the minds', which is rare in my case...Eventually, i introduced him to she who became his wife...And out of respect to this lovely couple, i distanced myself from my male friend...Even though there was never any physical attraction from my behalf...Interestingly, he is INTJ, my favorite personality-type, because i do admire intellect more than physical beauty and more than personality...(I told my husband that he was my best-friend before him)...

Not surprisingly, i married an Aspie...I often say that i fell in love with my husband's brain  ...He was so determined to win me...And he simply would not take no for an answer...His brain is like that of a lawyer...He always had a counter-argument for my objections to dating him...His determination and focus paid-off...Unfortunately, he continued to argue with me onto our marriage :P ...Thank God he is learning that as the saying goes, "The wife is always right" He often tells me, "You're a lawyer; i don't stand a chance against you"...The truth of the matter is that i married my husband, because i consider him to be smarter than me...Because he is!! ! Oh and by the way, he is INFJ, the rarest personality-type...We need more like him in this world...He is a silent hero
