I guess I am missing the obvious.

If they mean "just this past year" then the covid lockdown would explain it.

If they mean its a longer trend then...video games, unemployment (hence no money for sexy sports cars), and (dare I say it) fear of the Me too movement, might all be factors.

Feminist thinking and EU laws that are baissed towards women and aginst men here in the UK when it comes to marriage, divorce and the children.
It means that the newer generation of men living in the UK are not wanting to settle down with a woman and are more likely to find their enjoyment using sex toys then take the risks of settling down to a straight relationship (Marriage etc) when the odds are severly stacked against them if things don't work out.

This is mostly speculation on my part, but ever since the advent of oral contraceptives for women, there has been a general increase in the number of women attending college, earning professional degrees, and putting off marriage and childbirth -- sometimes indefinitely -- in favor of advancing their careers and becoming wealthy in their own right. With all that going for them, what real need have such women for men?

The guy in the video did focus on a one point that resonates true: people are becoming less social, people are getting less friends.

I think he’s right, that’s the main factor.

I'm not a virgin---and it doesn't matter to me.

All I care about is ME. I'm not one who is a victim of trends.

Just because "male virginity is SKYROCKETING," doesn't mean that I would have necessarily remained a virgin if I was a virgin

Then again.....maybe this is a boon for all the guys who are lamenting their virgin status. Maybe it's a good thing. Maybe those guys won't feel so "ashamed" at being virgins. And maybe women who are seeking "the one" will not look askance at a man because he's a virgin.

The guy in the video didn’t say anything remotely close to this. He didn’t even blame anyone.

To sum what he said in this long video: society is becoming less communal; people are becoming less social.

He also said if you do an activity like mini gulf then treat everyone the same, old men, women, cute girls... just socially interact equally the same with them as people - that’s not a bad advice at all.
