How do you deal with haters and naysayers?

I glory in my differences.

by believing that I will be in Paradise or Heaven one day soon in the grand scheme of things.

You embrace the fact that you don't think like they do?

Take comfort in knowing that I'm probably richer than them.

I just deal with the financial haters by knowing I will be counting my millions or billions and getting mailbox money my whole life and I have 2 ranches and 2 homes and that I am semi-retired while they are pursuing their latest richest get rich quick scheme knowing I have gotten rich quick by owning oil and gas assets and that I am a independent oilman.I also deal with them by knowing physical gold will still be worth something in 10,000 years and God's not making anymore land.I deal with them hating me for being a Texan partly by knowing we are the biggest American oil and gas producer.I know people hate me because I run a fracking company but i deal with it by knowing I am hurting OPEC and Russia and Saudi Arabia.I know people hate me for shooting deer and rabbits and birds and hares and fish and eat meat I deal with it by knowing that I am helping keep small Texas towns alive. and I am preserving the wildlife and I am saving human life by keeping deer from hitting cars on the highway and by knowing I own and operate guns safely and I am a humane hunter and that the world needs oil and gas and petrochemical products and I am creating jobs and paying taxes.I know people hate me for being a New Mexican but I deal with by passion for the Land of Enchantment.I deal with my dividend haters by knowing i will have prolly have a steady growing passive income through my blue chip dividend aristrocrats and dividend kings that keeps pace with inflation even if the market goes flat for 10 years and I get paid while I sleep.I deal with my hate for being an Oklahoman and Arkansan by knowing we gave the world Walmart and Phillips Petroleum and T Boone Pickens and the Duggars and Sonic and Love's Truck Stops and Braum's and we are wonderful people who the real salt of the earth types and we are big church of Christ of states Texas included same with New Mexico.I deal with getting hate for loving Waffle House by being proud to live in the South.

I embrace that I can think for myself.

If you're pro oil are you anti-electric car?

I am more of all of the above type when it comes to energy sources.I want a Tesla or a EV if they ever make a self driving one.However I do want to invest in green energy projects and also I support Texas being big in solar and wind power most likely so we can diversify the West Texas and Arizona and New Mexico and Texas Economy as a whole and revitalize small towns and provide good blue collar jobs.I think that Tesla will be good for Texas economically.Also oil and gas is used to generate the power needed to run EVs.I think large amounts of oil and gas will be used decades into the future so there will be a need for my oil and gas drilling too.I dont think its a either-or thing.I think its both.I have thought about buying Tesla stock on the dip.I also deal with the haters by knowing that I am going to be a banker and financier and real estate investor through land,rentals,REITS, MLPs,and fine art investor and life settlement investor and gold investor and water investor and that I am going to be a hotelier own gas stations and truck stops and a life settlement company and own bank and insurance company and having the goal of being a corporate raider and greenmailer and wildcatter.and own restaurant franchises hopefully one day and another way I deal with the hate is that I drink in moderation only.I deal with the haters by knowing I have a trust fund that will be enough for me to live on for the rest of my life.

I deal with my haters by knowing I am a Pastor and I want to be a deacon and a elder and that I am active in church politics and that I am going to start my own church of Christ and intentional Christian Community and that I am going to be a farmer and rancher.I also deal with my haters by studying the Bible to know that Jesus and the early Christians drank so we can too.I just think oil and gas will always have a place on earth even if it is a lesser one.Its even a much smaller percentage of Texas economy than it was in the and 1950's and 1960's 1970's and 1980's.I do admit that the Oil and Gas Industry is a much smaller part of the American economy and stock market as a whole but its still king here in the Permian Basin.I think that Texas may run out of oil and gas production centuries from now.I also deal with the haters by knowing that I am trying to rediscover and restore the 1st century church in Acts.

I challenge them with facts, thereby exposing their lies.

I like that approach.I use it a lot too.

In my experience they will NOT believe in the facts & they will NOT hear me out. I'm used to people assuming that I am too mentally ret*d to possibly understand what they are talking about or people assuming that I am lying when I am telling the truth. Ironically I tend to be believed more when I do lie. There is a Ferengi Rule Of Acquisition that goes, "A good lie is easier to believe than the truth". I do not lie unless I see a need to thou. Trying to argue with lots of people is a waist of my time & breath. I remind myself of the phrase, "Pick your battles" & I tend to drop it. I tend to go my own way with things & I let others do what they will.
