It's not really the body, it's what it represents. Things that were rarely known by the younger half of the population in childhood and are rarer still in their adult lives. Things that are sorely, albeit often unconsciously, missed.

I have a dad bod & my gf likes that. She doesn't find lots of mussels attractive & she also finds very skinny people less attractive. She's very overweight so that could be a factor.

I'm allergic to mussels myself. Also oysters, clams and scallops.

I have read many online blogs from young women who claim to have a preference for "dad bods" but they must be in a very small minority.

95% of women tend to date men with similar body types to them.

I think a lot of these "matched" characteristics there are always a compromise though
If men are
wearlng spectacles
no hair
overweight
short
then they need to compensate in other areas.

Oh! It's just my observation. When I was younger (before getting married) I was always monitoring couples to see the female partners men had (the same way fisherman look inside other fisherman's buckets to see what they are catching).

I can confidently say that on average women generally match characteristics like height, weight looks (approx) with their partners.

There are exceptions. Our major corporate central business district is centred around Collins Street in Melbourne. Lots of highly paid professional males, executives, managers high flyers all concentrate in this street. A lot of these "suits" types have dad bods but they are among the top 5% income earners on display, What is funny is most of these fatties seem to have really hot looking partners who look like fashion models.

Many women, including myself, don’t look for a great body or money when choosing a partner.

When I had a dad body I was seen as stable, supportive, lovable and kind.
Then I lost ten kilos and suddenly I was hot.

Maybe that says something.
