was out earlier tonight and this girl touched my face and said "he's gorgeous"

One of my male friends then said "no he's not he's an ugly little f****r".

Do you think that was a very rude thing to say?

I asked him later on that night why he called me ugly and he said “because you are ugly”

Maybe.
She may have been sarcastic, but I wasn't there so I don't really know.

I think it’s a very rude thing to say though to someone else especially being so blunt as well

I do see him quite regurley on the weekends at the pub. Not really sure if he’s my friend or not though? But he is part of my social group

Well in that case he's not your friend. He's at best an acquaintance who doesn't care how you feel. What did the girl do after his comment?

It doesn’t matter what the guy thinks.

It’s what the lady thinks that matters.

I don’t think she said anything really or maybe she didn’t hear his comment?

Alas, in that case you got distracted by the guy when you should have been focusing on the girl.
Like a fisherman who catches a fish and then focuses on something irrelevant and let's the fish slip out of their fingers back in to the water.

With friends like that, who needs enemies, as they say.
The woman, assuming she was sincere, would probably have been disgusted by your "friend's" comment, if she thought *he* was sincere. 8)

It sounds as though your friend was joking even if he denied it (another joke).
I actually say things like that as a yapes, but with a smile.
I.E. Say the unexpected. ;)

What sort of jerk says something/k like that?
What inspired him to do this?

Jamesy seems to know some very odd people.
I wonder if they are autistic?

Maybe your friend was drunk.

I don't know why you hang out at the pubs all the time, people there seem nasty and unpredictable.

You seem obsessed with going to pubs.

If you’re attracted to women I’d be more interested in what the woman thought, not your male friend. I’ve found that some people joke this way, by insulting. I’ve never liked it, and try to avoid those people. There’s a difference in playfully joking, for instance playing a game and a friend saying, “You suck.” And making those kinds of jokes... and calling you ugly, in my opinion. I had a female friend who used to joke around by poking fun at me, and I dumped her as a friend. It got old and made me feel bad.

Simple...drunk NT girls

If you go to a pub every week then you are going to eventually get a free snog for just being there.
