I am a commitment-phobic.

My girlfriend out of nowhere did a tattoo of my name on her.

She knows I don’t like to get any tattoos on myself but I wonder what’s her expectation. She jokingly said she knows I won’t do any tattoos.

Should I worry?

She clearly thinks that this relationship is going to last.

I don’t think that she would expect you to get a tattoo because she got one. People know that tattoos aren’t for everyone.

Getting a tattoo of your romantic partner's name is the most stupid things ever. If I was a tattoo artist I would try to discourage people from getting them or any other tattoo I know they're going to end up regret getting.

Of course, younger people never think how permanent a tattoo really is.

Some people are very casual about getting tattoos. I know people you have basically scribbled and drawn doodles all over themselves. I just figure its their body and their business not mine :-)

As for myself, if I want something drawn on me I'll use a marker. That way by the time I get bored with it, its faded or washed away.

Nope....I doubt this is "casual."

Any woman who gets a guy's name tattooed onto her-----wants the guy to be in her life permanently.

you may be right or not - exes tattoos have been covered before and they can be again.

My main point is not to worry about what other people do. If the OP likes this woman? Great! but if not, don't use the tattoo to stay in the relationship.

It's a really painful process to get rid of a tattoo.

Not quite as bad as the initiations involved in getting out of a street gang----but close!

That's worse. She's definitely looking for commitment.

I only know OP from what he writes here, but I'm pretty sure he isn't going to be guilted into staying with her because of the tattoo.

No commitment means breaking up some time in the future. Boo, you aren't getting any younger. Perhaps you should try commitment?

That depends on whether she's been binge watching movies where fighter pilots stencil opposing insignia under their canopies ...

Does it say: The_Face_Of_Boo.

I suppose if things didn't work out she could claim to be a Dr Who fan.

^ Could somebody sneak up and add a B to the end of that? Would be funny.

In all seriousness, you absolutely must get a tramp stamp to show your commitment.
