heterosexual is the majority of sexuality type so that might explain why most men here are heterosexual

I don’t believe men are predominant here.

There seems to be a pretty equal amount of men and women here.

Not sure which 'here' you mean. Wrong Planet in general, or the Dating subforum in particular.

Ninety percent of humans are heterosexual. So as with most websites most of the posts on WP are by heterosexuals.

Most folks on the autism spectrum are male.

And most of the complaining done on this, the Dating subforum of WP, is by males.

So it aint surprising that most posts "here" (if you mean wrong planet) are by heterosexuals, or 'here' if you mean this subforum) are by heterosexual guys.

But there is an LBGTQ suborum on WrongPlanet. So feel free to drop in there.

I'm gonna assume that the OP is wondering why a seemingly majority of users in this L&D section are straight males. Like others have mentioned, there is a Women's section & an LGBT section that I never go in & relationship things may be getting posted in those sections. Also men are diagnosed with autism 4x more than women. Some think of autism as an extreme male brain & guys in general tend to have a harder time understanding women than women having a hard time understanding men; watch sitcoms & listen to standup comedians for lots of examples. It makes sense to me that autistic guys might tend to have a harder time understanding & relating to women than autistic women have understanding & relating to men. From what I've seen on this forum, some guys find some autistic women refreshing. Plus the gender & social roles with dating & relationships tend to be different for guys than women in general; for example guys are generally expected to be more finachially independent & do more of the approaching & make a more direct move to start relationships which are things autism can majorly interfear with. That said, there are LOTS of exceptions with this & some autistic women can majorly struggle with dating & relationships.

There are a lot of heterosexual autistic guys who can't get a girlfriend and who have very little or no dating experience well into adulthood. Naturally we all flock to this section to espouse our grievances.

Most women on the spectrum have no difficulty in finding a partner where most men on the spectrum have great difficulty. This is due to how autism plays out differently in men and women and how the natural character traits between men and women work. To a man, be he on the spectrum or not, the autistic traits can be attractive as the woman is more focussed in getting his attention and somehow men find their traits can be attractive as they are unusual so men find them to be a "Key" catch.
Autism in men tends to be a dissadvantage because to a woman who knows nothing about autism, the autistic man can come across as being weird and awkward. I hope this explains something as to why more men are posting in this section as most of the posts are from those who are trying and looking to find love.

There has been times in the past where more than a few non-autistic women were posting in this section about being in relationships with autistic men. A bit of those relationships were very abusive & the women were diagnosing their guys as being autistic because the guys lacked empathy & had meltdowns & such. I'm wondering if more autism awareness is the reason those types of posts declined so much :? I'm hoping people don't automatically associate a$$hole behavior with autism as much & are looking deeper.

I hate to tell you this, but I think those people have just taken their words to places like Reddit.

Women don't feel safe posting here. There are better forums for us to talk on where we don't get attacked and are allowed to share our experiences.

Women have their own womens section. Men do not have that so have to use other sections instead.

if men had their own section here it will probably become adult rated within a day because it will mostly be dominated by sex discussions

I resent that. NOT all of us guys here who would post in a Men's section are like that & we already have an Adult section for those types of discussions so doing that in other sections like a Men's one would be redundant. Plus good moderation could keep the forum in check. Give our current mod team some credit. Having a Women's section but no Men's is a double standard & I know some women would be very upset if Alex decided to get rid of the Women's in the name of gender equality.
