Is it quite common for not so attractive people to dislike dating those who are in are in there own league?

Why do you think that is?

I think we all imagine that we are more attractive than we actually are.

Humans are weird.

Everyone likes a 10 out of 10 but few people are. Most are in the average range and for many people average just isn't enough.

I've seen it a few times were people think they're more attractive than they actually are.

I'm not sure leagues exist, but if your 'romantic endevours' all involve crushes on people who won't ever reciprocate it's easy to start believing they do.

Have you ever actually engaged with someone who wanted more engagement in the future? If someone reciprocates interest, that means they're potentially a viable partner.

If every unrequited crush is counted of course there will be all sorts of people 'out of your league', but that doesn't mean every single good looking person won't ever reciprocate interest.

But yes, generally people don't want to date people they consider to have lower worth than themselves. They usually want equals, or at least near-equals. If they're ambitious, they won't settle for someone without ambition. If they're hot, they might not settle for someone who isn't. If they're smart or wealthy or whatever, they probably want someone who isn't too far off from them in that regard.

Not always, but often.

Oh yeah and the other leagues too. If someone's relatively good looking, smartish and fairly successful then by all means, they can pick and choose but if not, they certainly shouldn't be picky.

I actually prefer to date people in my own league because I don't have high standards when it comes to dating

People date who they like. Or who they put effort into dating. Most people don't put effort into dating. Those are the ugly ones.

Besides, I still have yet to meet anyone who is ugly.

Even severe burn victims still get there's.

And paraplegics.

I think lots of cases on this forum have to do with Projecting. The person feels bad for having those qualities & projects their negative opinion onto others who have similar qualities.
