I'm curious whether men are more into pretty faces or nice bods.

All other things (personality) being equal.

Of course your definition of a pretty face or nice bod may vary.

I’m not a man. At least, I wasn’t the last time I checked. I swing both ways, though, mostly theoretically-speaking. I made out with my best friend once when I was around 19. We would’ve been together if it wasn’t for religion.

ANYWAY, if I HAD to pick something that wasn’t personality, I’d say facial features. Maybe nice eyes and/or a nice smile. Most people have something attractive about them in my opinion.

My friend had nice eyes. We grew up together, were best friends, and I was in love with her, so it didn’t really matter what she looked like. I would’ve thought she was gorgeous no matter what.

Body over face, body requires work so I appreciate those who keep themselves in good shape (genetics has its impact tho), while a pretty face is mostly due to genetics.

Usually the two things are positively correlated.

Not sure why you asked the question, but when I was in my early 20s, I cared more about bodies. When I got into my 30s, I started caring more about faces.

I think my only useful answer will be to talk about how my partner sees things.

I think my partner values my body over my face.
He often tells me that I'm beautiful by looking at my body, which took me a long time to understand.
He also likes my face, but I have the impression that he's more interested in my body.
On the other hand, I don't really do any sport, so there's not always a connection with "work", and I don't think it's fair to say that overweight people don't work.
Someone who struggles to diet really does work harder than I do, even with the extra kilos.

I asked the question because Jamesy asked the same one about men, several times. It occurred to me that I didn’t know how people felt about the same question regarding women.

As much as I want to say “it doesn’t matter”, I sincerely wanted to know.

That’s why I asked.

Not sure, pretty sure most people I've been into were blessed in regards to both.

As a male friend said to me once about women in general:

'Why look at the mantelpiece when you're stoking the fire?'

Hopefully you understand that because I understood what he meant.

I’ve heard men call women with good bodies but unattractive faces, ‘“Butter faces”.

I’m curious if people have different expectations for partners than they do for themselves in terms of physical appearance.

I think men assume a woman’s body might feel better for them, sexually. Nicer to touch, and somehow more … adept at sex.


Faces might not matter as much in that regard.

Just a thought.

I didn't vote because those two things are so far down on the list for me. They are also about equal in their unimportance.

Personality and connection are the most important for me.

After that we need to have dinner connection/ interest extra to even Begin contact.

As for som thing that would attract me by sight it would need to be something related to my interests. A dnd shirt for instance

My ex thought that chubby women were tighter.

I would prefer a nice looking face across the diner table from me.

Hard to tell. I prefer body over face because as Boo said, a good body takes a lot of work.
