Being shirtless is just as cringe.
That's a bit harsh, but I can't exactly blame men for that either. This is one of those things where if women would just put up profiles that actually communicated what they would respond to, men would probably not bother with this one. There's other stuff like those infamous Richard photos that are both inexcusable and inexplicable, but this one at least does make some sense, at least for guys that are in shape. Some women go for that.
Do you mean women should have profiles which say they'll respond to men wearing clothing, who know how to have conversations with women who aren't their mother?
Such a hard sell.
That's stating it a bit strongly, saying not to refer to women they want to date as mother should generally be a given. The shirt thing really shouldn't be a given because that's clearly not a common thing. Beefcake calendars have existed for quite a while, so clearly some portion of the female population does like to see that, as long as we're not talking about an excessive beer belly. In the case of the beer belly, that falls under the general rubric of perhaps be honest, but don't be so honest that nobody can like you.
But yeah, go on one of those sites and look at the various profiles that women post and tell me they aren't either lying. The statistics shed a significant level of doubt that the women really are going after what they say, there just aren't that many tall men to begin with, let alone any other qualifiers that are listed. It's been a few years, but I doubt things have changed appreciably since then.
