As someone in a same-height couple, I've found it to be pretty awesome in ways I never expected! For one, it's great not having to deal with major height differences when it comes to things like hugging or sharing clothes (if that's your thing). We can see eye-to-eye—literally and figuratively! It also makes things like taking photos together so much easier since there's no need to adjust poses to accommodate height differences.

In practical terms, there's something really nice about the symmetry of being the same height. Whether it's walking hand-in-hand or standing side by side, it just feels balanced. Plus, we can both reach the top shelf without one of us feeling left out!

Anyone else in a same-height relationship? What do you love about it?

I don't remember ever having seen a 6 foot 6 woman, let alone met one.
My first serious relationship was with someone way shorter than me. When we walked together she'd put her arm around my leg. It did restrict my walking a bit, but do you think I'm going to protest a hand between my legs?

I've always been fond of partners that fit under my chin.

I'm 5'7" so it would be very possible to be with a man who is the same height as me, but that has not happened. I have to say, though, that height really doesn't matter to me at all in a relationship. I would be perfectly fine being with a man who is shorter than I am, though that hasn't happened either.

Supposedly research has shown that the ideal difference in height is around 4 inches taller for the male. Of course that is only an average.

A lot of the time tall guys go for short women leaving the tall ladies with fewer options but to settle for short men

tall ladies with few options (we are speaking about a small group) usually settle for men who are comparative height Jamesy. If I walk in the centre of Melbourne the ratio of couples who look like tom cruise with a 6ft g/f is about 1 in a 1000

I’m not tall, but I would date someone shorter than me as would many women. It’s really not THAT unusual. Sure, some women prefer being with a taller guy, but there are a lot of women out there, including many who simply don’t care one way or the other.

I let my eyes decide for me. I just don't see it very often, it's a rare thing.
