Being single has advantages and disadvantages but I have never gone on a date. Feel like there is something wrong with me, but there is something wrong with everything so wtf ever s**t

Never had sex

Today my boss said that she got pregnant at 16. She's 43 now. She did not say that Child Protective Services took her child

How the f**k is it possible for a 16 year old to financially support a child? Only actors and models earn enough to pay for having children.

Lonely as f**k

Live alone and nobody to talk to s**t

Her parents almost certainly helped her out, because that's what decent parents do in that situation.

funeral

neither you nor i know how she paid for her baby.

besides, even if her parents paid for her baby, how did her parents pay for her baby?

it is really hard to get a job that earns enough to pay for herself and her baby, because she was 17 with no high school diploma. besides actor, entrepreneur, and youtuber, there are not that many prospects.

besides, plenty of people with more education, over 21, and zero financial dependents, still constantly struggle financially. for example, i'm 41 with a BA and AA and earn part time, minimum wage. constantly afraid of getting made redundant s**t. especially after coronavirus

I had a child while being very poor. I got government assistance (food stamps, WIC, health insurance, housing, etc.) and bought things at yard sales/thrift stores. It’s hard but not impossible to get by when you have a kid. Teenagers also often receive support from friends and family in addition to some of the other stuff. Baby showers/gifts can certainly help. There’s probably programs for teenagers, but I don’t know anything about them. There’s stuff out there, though. The issue is often more about knowing where to look and applying.

If you qualify, you can get formula or breast pumps paid for and even childcare.

Obviously, it’s still hard being a parent, especially a teen parent, but there are resources which can make it possible.

First of all, they can't. Second of all, this is why the whole anti-bortion movement is cray cray.

If I was a 16 year old girl there ain't no way in hell I should be birthing or raising a child. Yeetus (and I mean this with kindness) the fetus.

There are a variety of benefits to help raise a child, depending on where a person lives, whether that be a (government funded) 'top-up' kind of payment to a persons working wage if they are working part-time as a single parent and also specific child benefits are available in many countries, although they aren't big money makers or anything.

There are millions of single parent families in many different countries in the western world.

You can be poor and have children. Being poor doesn't disqualify a person from being a parent.

Of course money is far from the only problem if we're talking about a 16 year old raising a child.

I think abortion should be available but also lots of resources for those who want to keep the baby. My BFF had a baby when she was 16 and was a wonderful mother, not that that’s typical or anything. Parenting classes could be a good resource for some teen parents. Of course, it’s not always so easy to attend them because of a lack of time or transportation…

The same way they paid for her, no?

16 used to be a pretty common age to start a family

^ That was back when people didn't have a million things to do at 16, especially girls. Like get an education, graduate, go to college find a job, move out of their parent's house, and then slave away until they're old and weak.
