To those of you who aren't familiar with this, people have at long last began to take an interest in Human Asexuality; that is to say, the lack of human desire to have sex. Infact it's fast becoming a recognised sexuality label.

AVEN is a site much the same as this one; it serves as a gathering for people interested in this topic, or infact in this mind set.

I tell you this because, well to be honest, i've spent the last few years in complete disarray with my sexuality, especially with the reluctancy to increased proximity to others :( . And when i found this site, it was like i could finally put a word to it. :D
I've been researching a bit more about it, and apparently it's v likely that Asexuality does come with the AS package. :?

There are several sexualities that are seldom discussed, NOTE, attractions are described as being 'romantic' since they aren't sexual:

1.Hetero-Asexual, Hetero-romantic
Romantic attractions for just the opposite gender.

2. Homo-Asexual, Homo-romantic, Gay-A
Romantic attractions for just the same gender.

3. Bi-Asexual, Bi-romantic
Romantic attractions for either gender (8) )

4. A-romantic Asexual
Having no attraction to any1; relationships are comparable to being friends.

5. Autosexual
Having no attraction whatsoever to anyone but yourself
(Not to be confused with having relationships with cars! lol)

If any1's currently having any self identification problems then don't worry, i went through it, (still am a bit lol) and i'm just offering a little extra info that people rarely discuss.
Asexuals make up only 1% of the world's population, so you can definitely say we're quite rare, and thus not many people even know we exist! :P

Feel free to ask anything or add your own knowledge to here :)

I don't want to retype it, but I have an entry under the 'Love and Dating' topics ("Slightly Worried, but not Panicking" thread). Bases on my description of myself there, I'm wondering if I fit the criteria for this.

Asexuality is fascinating. I'm happy to hear that asexual people are forming communities and that it's becoming more widely recognized as a sexual orientation.

I find it interesting because I am obsessed with sexuality, and social psychology. I also have a sexual orientation that is often misunderstood. I genuinely have no gender-based preference. It has always been this way for me. However, many people dismiss this by saying things such as, "Everyone is bisexual", "It's a phase", "No one is truly bisexual", "It's a type of histrionic, hypersexual behavior", etc. I guess this is their way of avoiding acceptance of the existence of something they do not understand. I imagine that asexual people probably face similar forms of ignorance.

Anyway, thank you for enlightening me about asexuality. I had previously been unaware of the diversity within the asexual spectrum.

Porn addiction? I'm definetly like you. Maybe I should go for Robot sex sometime in the future. The prospect of getting a partner programmed to be a total nymphomaniac who craves anal sex 6 times in a day is something I find interesting. I really find the idea of totally dominating a partner. That's one of the reasons I stay away from people.

Do asexuals feel the urge masturbate or are no sexual urges experienced whatsoever or does it depend on the person?

I'm just really curious. It sounds weird but I find it really interesting learning about different sexualities.
