I have seen threads where people on here want to know if female Aspies prefer AS or NT mates.

Now, I am curious to hear the guys' point of view. Do you prefer AS or NT mates?

I marked "indifferent", as people are more than psychological labels. However, I do think that for many of us, a partner who is more neurotypical might complement our own characteristics more fully, rather than simply being a carbon copy with different genitalia.

Depends on the girl really.

Somethings about an AS person could really get to me... especially if her AS is quite different from how I act.

Somethings about an NT person could get to me also... so it really doesn't matter.

AS folks already have social problems which hurt the potential people they could date, it makes no sense throwing the condition... oh she must be AS too on top of everything.

If you work on understanding and communication, you'll be able to handle NTs. They aren't impossible to understand...

With a fair amount of bravado... I'm willing to say I'll go out and have NT relationships. I think I can handle them, and maybe have better relationships than many NTs do.

I have only recently been dx, so it is a whole new world. However, all the women I have dated have been very ASish in that they have all been poetic/daggy non conformist, obsessive types, who have mostly been attracted to my intensity due to them being either love or sex addicts whilst at the same time being rather socially anorexic.

I just love daggy women, NT or AS

My relationships are neurologically diverse.

I don't screen anybody out based on any one thing.

I'm not sure. A lot of AS girls are attractive, and it seems that they have more backbone than most NT girls. I wouldn't mind being in a relationship with an AS girl.

Either way, although I feel a NT girl could help me more than an AS one.

Personally, I've tried the NT type o' gal, and they appeared more "screwed up" than I am (as weird as that might sound). I'd have to say that a good looking Aspie would be more my style. Mind you, if I meet up with a semi-normal NT, I won't turn her away either.

I prefer other Aspies, because I see them as being more tolerant of various tings than NTs. Also, I feel that they are morally superior to NTs.

Personally, who cares? If two people want to go out, the fact the one is an NT and one is an aspie should make no difference.

How could you accurately say unless you have had relationships with both AS and NT people?

I've had a couple relationships with girls that I will assume are NT (Could have been psychotic though...) and I'd definitely like to try building a relationship with an AS female.

Just all of my NT relationships had a couple in common huge problems.

Considering that AS males outnumber AS females by about 4 to 1, you really had better not be too picky.

On the other hand, though, I think that WrongPlanet may have by far the biggest concentration of women on the internet. Neurotypical women would probably be more likely to be spending their time shopping at the mall.

I have decided to permanently limit myself to other Aspies.

I'm really curious that you think AS people are 'morally superior' to NT people. What makes you think that? How are you defining 'morally superior'?

Limiting yourself to AS-only mates seems rather naive to me, Tim. Are you going to ask every girl you fancy if they have a diagnosis prior to asking them for a date? Soul-mates very rarely fit a prescribed checklist of qualities and requirements. IME, love just doesn't work that way.

People are people, each one an individual tangled conundrum of good and bad qualities and personality traits, and it's way too simplistic to label them.
