I picked him up in a bar. He walked in, I got chills, he stood by me and ordered a drink. When one of my friends left, I moved over and kicked the bar stool out for him to sit. I still never turned my head, but I felt his presence. Out of the corner of my eye I saw he was getting up to leave. Me: “Where do you think you’re going?” Him: “I think I am going home”. Me: You think too much. Sit down because we haven’t had a chance to talk”.
We chatted, it got late, he asked for my phone number, I told him “How about I don’t give you my phone number and you don’t call me instead of me giving you my number and you won’t call me”. He walked me to my car, made me smile the biggest smile ever when I turned to look and say good bye. Just the way he looked melted me. I then gave him my number. He called 10am the next day. We haven’t spent a day apart (except when mad at each other). He said that smile sealed the deal.
He invited me over the next night and cooked a simple dinner. I loved the meticulous way he cleaned up after. I knew I was hooked the following weekend when he came to meet me out with a bunch of my friends and as he approached I had my hands behind my back wiggling for him to hurry up and stand with me, I couldn’t wait another second. He later told me that was the most comforting thing anyone has ever done.
He kept telling me he doesn’t do well in relationships and I kept telling him I didn’t want a relationship (I broke up with my bf 20 minutes before he came walking into the bar). He was a little pushy about “when do we get to have sex”, which I wasn’t ready for being so recently heartbroken, but when I took him down, it was worth being ready (ok, 3 weeks, it wasn’t that long). It just worked out from day one.
