I just got a confession from someone I have known for 5 years that he has "liked" me ever since. [this was an online confession by the way].
He says that hes wanted to "go out" with me ever since he first met me at intermediate school.

I am confused now of what to do...we haven't seen eachother in over a year. I don't know how to act, what to say, how to say it and I really don't want to mess this up, or make him feel bad.

If this does progress any further, it will be my first "relationship" as such.
I have absolutely no idea of what to do! Advice?

All I can say though is yay...someone actually wants to be with me!

No offense here Brittany, but the one question I have to ask, and this is a question that I find utterly important.

What is this guy like? Is he a nice type or is he the type that has stories told about him because he's a vagabond womanizer type?

No offense meant to steal your happiness, but too many times, its the second one and no one listens to me when I tell them its a bad idea.

Hmm...well he does seem nice. Seems genuine from what I last remember. We've always been in email contact since we've known eachother and from what he's been writing...he seems nice as I said before.
As far as I know, there has been no stories told about him.

You didn't "steal my happiness". It was a valid question.

yeah other people, will critize behind your back, most normies are like that, letting you stumble and bleed, but yeah the question, is valid, like why after 5 years, does he "like you", love or strong feelings makes logic go all fuzzy, it did for me, i never seen most things coming, like a head-less man on the highway at rush hour

Ok...forget what I have said in this thread.

This guy has already turned out to be a complete jerk. Everyone was right about this, I was wrong...he was not "nice".

He was basically telling me that he "liked me" so him and his friends could get a laugh from my reactions. It doesn't matter anymore...cased closed.

Don't go hurting yourself over this. It happens to most girls at one time or another... it doesn't mean something is wrong with you, it means you're experiencing being a girl.

Look at the bright side, at least he showed his true colors before you fell in love with him... Some people are not that fortunate.

What a creep though, how can people be so disrespectful? How old was he, like 16?

Yes he is 16...
Quite honestly, I am glad this happened because now I know the truth...
the world and most people in it are a lie. It doesn't matter anyway...as you said Leo21k, atleast he showed his true colours. I just hope the rest of the world see them and don't become fooled by him. ohwell...thats just life.

There's actually a site or two where women can post information on a guy, to warn others not to let him reproduce..;) Don't remember the name, but it's something like 'ditch the creep', or to that effect.

Anywho.com supposedly will give you some info. Also, many states let you look up criminal records., etc.

Just be more cautious in the future but don't let this destroy your ability to trust.
Be aware there are people like this but don't let it haunt you.

What a jerk.
Still, as people said, at least you found out what he was like before you got too attached.
I'd suggest telling everyone who expresses an interest in him what he is really like.

People used to do that to me when I was at school, it was horrible. I really hope you don't let it affect you that much.

Don't give up hope, Brittany. In an essay, the writer Spider Robinson divided the world into two basic groups - OOTNO (One Of The Nice Ones) and NOOTNO (Not One Of The Nice Ones). This jerk is NOOTNO, is all, and like most NOOTNOs, he's gathered a little clique of NOOTNOs around himself to provide the closest thing to positive feedback he's ever gonna get.

You're fortunate enough to be a member here, a place just chock-full of OOTNOs. :) You're better than he will ever be, and you've got more and better acquaintances than he will ever have. And rest assured, there will come a time (possibly more than one time) that you'll find yourself an OOTNO out there in meatspace. After all, there are more of us than there are of them - that's how the world has survived this long; we're just not as noisy about it as they are. And when that time comes, you will see the jerk for the meaningless waste of flesh that he is. :)
