...I don't even want a relationship. They're either based on sex, or fantasy, and they're too damned scary and stressful to be worthwhile.

I guess love happens once in a while. But too many people mistake infatuation for true love. And too many people stay in relationships because they can't think of a reason to end it.

I remember a girl who was in a relationship and wanted to be with this other guy. She broke up with her boyfriend, and the guy just guilted her wicked bad, reminding her of the things she had promised him. And so it continued... The fact that she didn't love him didn't make a difference.
Come to think of it, health class would classify that as emotional abuse. But it doesn't matter if you're being abused. In fact some girls are physically abused and still stay in relationships. Total jerks get all the girls, and it pisses me off...

It's not that you don't want a relationship, it seems like you want a relationship.

What you described as "relationship" in your post isn't a relationship at all. Sex is nothing to base a relationship on (although it may become part of one later on), and people who try to create that "purely physical relationship" (which I must stress is NOT a relationship) are doomed to fail.

Here's a quick way to tell if you really like someone: If you are attracted to someone right away, it's probably physical attraction (since you have no way of knowing what the person's personality is like). If the attraction builds up over time, then you're feeling genuine attraction, not some BS physical thing...

Surely that would mean that not all women are meant to fall in love?

I don't believe anything is meant to happen, just about everything in our lives can be changed by our descisions.

There are more women because men die younger.

Makes sense. Nothing is meant to happen!
