I have but it was one time thing. I was on a camping trip me and my buddies left to camp far from our parents we were walking for awile and it started raining and of coures it got worse we were camping on a mountain so not a good thing. We all hid under a tree for about an hour and moved on to find there was others out camping... about 5 girls were camping under a Huge tent. My freinds were getting cold and couldent resist so they whent to introduce themselfs, I walked off and found a pond and a waterfall I Sat down on a rock and staired at the stars... :?: I kept on hearing a voice behind the waterfall I went to go see what it was and it was one of the girls from the camp I asked her what she was doing out here and she said getting away from the others I asked why... she said cause I hate them my parents forced me to go with them. After she told me what had all happend I sat down next to her and gave her my jacket we sat behind the waterfall as it started to rain... she said that everyone hates her she never said why but I said I dont hate you... :!: :!: 8O She leaned over and embrased me then she kissed me, she put her head on my shoulder and told me to never let her go. we slept under the waterfall and headed back that morning.

3 years have passed and she's far off somewere but were still in contact.

In college I had 2 golden opportunities that I was too oblivious and nervous to take. Still kicking myself to this day.

I'll never forget that night in the mini cave under the waterfall it was raining hard. I listen to this one song from Angels & Airwaves Everythings Magic It reminds me of that day.

And do you ever feel like you're
alone?
And do you ever wish to be
unknown?
I could say I have..
I could say I have..
And do you ever feel things here
aren't right?
And do you ever feel the time
slip by?
I can say I have..
And I can say I have..

So hear this please
And watch as your heart speeds up endlessly
And look for the stars as the sun goes down
Each breath that you take has a thunderous sound
Everything, everything's magic...
Just sit back and hold on, but hold on tight
Prepare for the best and the fastest ride
And reach out your hand, and i'll make you mine
Everything, everything's magic

And do you ever lay awake
at night?
And do you ever tell yourself
don't try?
Don't try to let yourself down

Don't try to let yourself down
And do you ever see yourself
in love?
And do you ever take a chance, my love?
Because you know I will..
Because you know I will..

So hear this please
And watch as your hearts speeds up endlessly
And look for the stars as the sun goes down
Each breath that you take has a thunderous sound
Everything, everything's magic
Just sit back and hold on, but hold on tight
Prepare for the best and the fastest ride
And reach out your hand, and i'll make you mine
Everything, everything's magic

...Everything, everything's magic...

Wow! That story is amazing; even I was truly moved by it, and I consider myself quite unemotional. The plot line is very simple, yet I could feel the emotions described in it (is that empathy is supposed to feel like?). I'm very pleased to know that the hostile environment I grew up in didn't destroy my ability to enjoy stories like these. Even though I'm a firm opposer of the "love at first sight" concept, I honestly believe that this story is possible. Maybe because it's not so much about love, but rather about friendliness and affection.

I had a similar experience while in college. I was at a bar in a town I've never been to before, and it had a large outdoor patio. There was some fog in the air, but the weather was breezy and pleasant. There was a band playing on the patio. Somehow, I got separated from my friends, so I went over to watch the band, to pass some time. I saw a girl my age standing by herself. She had that cute, innocent look that made you want to give her a hug and tell her that everything will be OK (obviously, not act on it out of the blue). I walked over to her, and asked: "so what do you think of the band?". This led to a conversation about the usual college stuff. I was completely blown away by how warm and friendly she was.

At one point, I asked her "are you cold", and put my arm around her (this was my idea of flirting). I expected her to resist and/or walk away, but instead, she pressed into me, and put her arm around me. I was shocked beyond belief, but managed to compose myself. We ended up cuddling for the next 15 minutes, until she had to leave to go somewhere else. At the end, she gave he a quick hug, and rubber her hair against me while she did it, which felt really good. I ended up with that "inflated head" feeling for the rest of the night, and couldn't stop thinking about that girl for at least 2 days.

I've been through similar situations... one time I was cast for a role in a musical production (it was a high school group, which I was part of at the time). Anyway, there was this one girl that was always cold (to be fair, the air conditioning was on a little too high, but I found it nice)... and at one point I put my arm around her because she's visibly shivering. The first thing she said was "ooh, you're warm". We ended up in an embrace for 10 minutes... and I came away with that same "inflated head" feeling you describe...

Then just say so! The primary woe of so many of us here is that we couldn't say it when it would have made an impact. I've had a bazillion opportunities, but I didn't take any of them...
