We've all been there, recently dumped or rejected and suddenly life seems so dull and pointless. The things I've always been so passionate about suddenly aren't fun anymore. I've already lost some weight because I've hardly been eating. Last time I was like this, World of Warcraft had just come out and I completely immersed myself in it. I started playing it a bit again, but it just doesn't captivate me like it did the first time around.

I want something that will get me out of the house, meet some new people. I could really use some more friends in my life right now. All of my good friends are busy with work, relationships or live to far away to see every day.

you can always hang at WP...;)

It's hard to 'force' a new interest. Just look around, online, IRL, etc., see if something you've always wanted to do or try presents itself.

To be honest, when I was in this situation, I ended up volunteering alot at a local church, which I continue to do until this day. Not only does it give me something to do (which helps me to ignore the stress of forced singlehood), but it also provides a bunch of well-intentioned people that I am around (although nobody my own age... there's probably 3 other active people between the ages of 18 and 40, and they're all men...)

Another idea is to get a job and make some extra money...

I'm not interested in dating or being in the realm called "love",
usually I do HW or read a book.

When I am at work, I hang here at Wrong Planet,
or like today at work, I gave myself an interesting-looking haircut.

Playing the PS3, doing homework, posting on here, and learning social skills so I can practice the dating thing.

I basically alternate from reading random stuff on the net and practicing guitar. When I finish a good practice session I feel a sense of accomplishment, and the best feeling is when I suddenly realize I've become measurably better and closer to my ultimate goal.

Know the feeling well. Just recently I've yet again had to cope with the fact a woman I rather like has a boyfriend. It's so easy for that to consume my thoughts and like you has made all the things that usually give me pleasure just don't.

Some days when I'm at work and working hard I suddenly realise I've not been thinking of my situation and feel quite good, but then it all comes back - if only I could concentrate on doing my stuff, it would stop me brooding and help me move on.

A good book can take me away from it, before I know it I'm lost in the story and it feels so good.

I'm told that if you can concentrate on you and what you do everything else falls into place eventually. Right now this is bloody hard, I can tell you.

I've been very careful this time to avoid alcohol and weed. I've used them to cope in the past and they quickly can become a habit, one that just ends up making you more depressed.

Maybe this is a good time for me to get into reading again... I used to be a book worm when I was younger, but I stopped back in college due to a hectic schedule. Who can recommend a good book?

Reading and exercise. Both get you out of your head in a positive way. You might even meet somebody new whilst you're out exercising!

I sleep to pass time. Like at school, when I can't really do anything important anyway, and people are annoying me.
I'm usually busy.
I will die with unfinished business. That's not a prophecy. It's deduction.
