I know soft music is best but I don't have anything really soft. Do you think this would be inappropriate? It's not as boring as Chopin... Otherwise I have some pop music but for a date, uhhh...

Bit too dark and melancholy, I would choose some soft and uninterupting jazz if you had it. But it depends on what she likes.

Judging by the picture, yes.

Well... i think it depends on who the dinner is with, but in general, not really. If you have some Nightwish, a few of there songs might work.

Nightwish? I don't have any of that stuff. I don't like the singer's voice.

No

Okay, I did listen to a few fragments. It's not my cup of tea, but then I think what is considered romantic and tasteful depends on the individual.

And I think the picture gives a good impression of the music contained within.

Can anyone post some romantic but not creepy-for-a-first-date songs and album names for me to check out? :D

The most romantic thing would be to play some music SHE likes. The second most would be to share with her what YOU like. Getting some random music neither of you likes by suggestion from the internet is the least romantic option.

It'd all depend on the girl. The beginning of that seems good, but the more like power metally it gets, you know, yeah. Then again some girls think power metal is awesome (I've not met one, though.) Girls happen to like, be different from each other occasionally. You'd probably just want to gauge the girl by talking to her and figuring out what she likes. If the girl is cultured and likes you know, music other than Top 40, then you have a lot more options. If not...radio. Owned.

Personally, music would be like, not something I'd give terribly much thought to. I listen to lots of different types of music, assuming I'm able to meet a girl and have a romantic dinner with her (like hell) she'd probably have rode in my car or been around me enough to know my musical tastes, and a lot of my musical tastes IS quiet nice romantic music, so yeah...

Too dark and epic, she might wonder whether its a romantic dinner or a funeral.

Mind you, I don't know what types of women you're dating but my usual advice, if your thinking about a candle-lit meal and cooking for her, that's already a bit heavy on its own - I'd be trying to balance it with some lighter elements. Think of some uplifting, emotionally happy, relaxed type stuff; not necessarily bubblegum but definitely not brooding or serious either.

Mmmm.. maybe better to know what kind of thing she likes and then get something that isn't on her radar but that she would like. If she walks in, here's it on the radio and thinks "Wow, that's cool - who is that?" its a plus.
