Hello everyone. A month ago, I began to take on a weird calling. My interest in computer programming leveling off, I instead became interested in directing amateur films. Last week, I joined our campus television station and I do camera-work for them, although because they have empty blocks and are looking for programming, I've begun advertising on campus for people interested in amateur acting.

For now, the only real means I've used to advertise is facebook and word-of-mouth, although over the next few weeks I intend to request a classified in our school newspaper, flyers for auditioning, and to create my own business cards (yay Kinkos =P). However, so far two really cute girls (one who after spending a semester studying abroad has picked up a good impression of a British accent.) have already been interested in auditioning, although one stated since she works on that day her availability would be dicey...

...my question is if this leads somewhere and I do find people interested in acting, would it be ethical to flirt/ask them out or would that be considered professional harrassment (even if done once/in casual tone)? It's a campus-TV station rather than an actual job so that's part of the issue...

All social contact with girls is not automatically flirting. If you're to be working with these young women, I'd make it about the job first. If I were you, I would not try to use your CampusTV project as a dating service. (I really applaud that initiative, btw.)

But if one of these ladies decides she would like to date you while you work together, then by God don't be a cold fish! Yeah, it's always risky but carpe diem! :wtg:

I agree unless she starts flirting with you. :)

I guess that would be considered a double standard. :?
