few dreams or fantasies due to restricted imagination; and concrete, realistic, logical thinking, often to the exclusion of emotional responses to problems. Those who have alexithymia also report very logical and realistic dreams, such as going to the store or eating a meal. Clinical experience suggests it is the structural features of dreams more than the ability to recall them that best characterizes alexithymia.
Alexithymia is very common in people with AS.
Perhaps so, but
not I . I suppose I dream about many of the same things that everyone else dreams about. For years I had a lot of anxiety dreams, I have sad dreams sometimes too(but not often). Anger and Fear are the most common feelings
in my dreams. But a lot of my dreams are just downright
weird. I tend to have repetative dreams with a recurring theme like floating in the air and defying gravity, or riding in the backseat of a car thats driving itself. I had a dream where I went into a house and there were all these secret passageways and hidden rooms and in the living room there was furniture and a door on the ceiling!
Even more curiously, for years Ive dreamt of seeing UFOs and other strange phenomena in the sky
and dreams where its snowing in august or broad daylight at 1AM(Which NEVER happens here in Portland,OR or back in my hometown of Seattle).......
