So, I"ve been dating this woman for awhile. I"ve never met anyone like her before. We've been talking since July, and started spending time together and going out on dates just last month. I really enjoy her company and she enjoys mine, so the next thing I"m wondering....When is the transition? What is the typical wait time to transition from just friends or buddies who have shared a few intimate moments to boyfriend and girlfriend? I've had relationships in the past, but never actually felt compelled to make her my gf. She is very different. What is the typical amount of time?

The transition may have already happened; it sounds more like it's a question of when you decide to label it. I, being my wonderful insanely explicit self (explicit in the "this needs to be clear" way), actually asked my boyfriend after our first 'date" date: "So, does this mean we're dating?" To be fair I prefaced this by saying something like, "I'm an idiot and can't tell these things," (not verbatim but I do think I used the word 'idiot' in my self-description. Possible "Social idiot"). but I'm not sure if that would work with anyone else. I just have the willingness to sacrifice dignity to eliminate confusion like that.

You don't really "plan" these sorts of things, when the person is right it just kinda happens naturally.
