The ones I've met just seem easier to talk to. I have trouble carrying a conversation with NT's, but the conversation style of the bipolar girls I've met basically eliminates that problem. Some would say they talk too much or all over the place. I actually like this. I find interesting what other people find boring or annoying. I also like how the ones I've met are super expressive. Opposites attract, right? I've never dated one but have had friends before who were.

My theory is that Asperger's makes a male unattractive to most women while bipolar makes a female (and a male, but I'm talking about females here) unattractive to most men. Both take negative gender stereotypes (men as cold and emotionally distant, women as crazy and unstable) to an extreme. But both have other good qualities. I'm thinking there might be a good symmetry there.

My question is how to capitalize on this insight. Maybe a dating site like POF or OKC would be a good medium to use. But how? Most girls are going to be hesitant to say bipolar on their profiles, and I am going to be hesitant to say Asperger's/ASD on mine. So, should I say on my profile I like bipolar girls? Or is there some other way to identify them?

I think some of them (at least my friends back in college) found my flat voice and flat affect calming and reassuring.

So, how would I say I like bipolar women on my OKC/POF profile without appearing creepy or weird? Or could I?

I looked at No Longer Lonely, but there really aren't any active users in my area.

Wouldn't dating a bipolar girl be difficult? I'm thinking about those times when she's really down in the dumps depressed and you have to stop whatever you're doing to bring her up to a comfortable level of happiness. Seems like a chore.

On a related topic, have you seen Silver Linings Playbook? I think it's about two "broken" people finding each other. Kinda seems like the conclusion you're after.

No, but I'll take a look. What I'm after is two people who are neuro-diverse but in nearly opposite ways.

I've also always wanted to date an extroverted, talkative girl, but most extroverted, talkative girls don't want to date me (not that I'd know...having never asked a girl out, so never been outright rejected). Only introverted, boring girls do because I am introverted and may seem boring until you get to know me (but that rarely happens). But this is not my true personality, so I end up dissatisfied in these types of relationships very very quickly.

Yeah, it's great, until she dumps you while she's on a manic episode and then shows no remorse for having done it at all.

I have noticed that some people tend to confuse bipolar disorder with borderline personality disorder. Not the same thing.

Mine can intimidate others they get rather nasty if I am not directing it all on myself I can black out and say some rather nasty stuff they can be rather hurtful too i rarely direct it outwards though but when I do I can be rather mean I do feel bad afterwards though! I had a mean tourettes lady I think she was schitzo too and drunk all of a sudden telling me to f*ck off for no reason with a scowling look in her face so I blew a fuse got up and told her to f*ck off back she did it again then I shouted it back so loud it echoed a few city blocks she took off after that!I even send angry drunks running when I get in that kind of mode!

I often wondered if that wasn't what my friend had rather than the diagnosis of being Bi-Polar.. BPD fits her so much more fully than strictly bi-polar does.. but I'm not a shrink so I can only go by the diagnosis that she had been given..

Did the manic episode last long?

The lack of remorse indicates to me that it's more likely BPD rather than Bipolar.
