Recently, I went online to check out the websight, "Plenty of fish.com," which reminds me of another myspace and it scares me. In my own opinion, I find that meeting people online can be really really dangerous. Infact, I tried posting a profile online when I was 20. In response, I chatted online with a guy who said that he was 30 and traveled all the time for buisness. Infact, he even talked sweet to me online. He also told me one time that he would look for me at work, as I worked at an international airport in 2002. However, he never showed up and I just backed off, knowing that he was fake. So, how many other people have put up profiles and were had?

I've never been "had" by a profile online, because i never had the intent to meet anyone in person.
Although I put up a profile at Otakubooty.com a week ago as an experiment.
So far two guys who have added me as friends are more than 15 years my senior, and trying to send me messages like "hey friend" like we already know each other. I'm just ignoring them.

Tori,
that's a smart move. I, however, do not post profiles on those sites for that reason. For one thing, I have heard way too many horror stories of people saying they're someone, and then they turn out to be someone else.

This is why I think that online dating sites are a waste of time...
