Turned off by small details?

Do you have "small" deal breakers that just turn you off if you're interested in someone? I definitely have a few. I was at a small gathering a while ago and there was a girl who I thought was pretty attractive and in listening to her thought she might be interesting. UNTIL, I heard her say, "I love rap!" and started talking about her favorite rap artists. That alone killed any potential interest I had. I hate rap and want to limit my exposure to it as much as possible. Plus, if she had that bad of tastes (by my standards) of music, she would likely have bad tastes in other things. Other times, I'll hear a woman mention how much she likes going to clubs. That kills it too. Any interest I may have had just is gone. Anyone else go through this?

Yeah, which is a real issue for me, because i rarely even get to the point where i'd find out about those things in the first place. I can only think of this happening ONCE, and thats rather telling, since i have a lot of hangups. Liking rap and/or country music, any dissing of: Anime, video games, anything science fiction, ect. All of that is an automatic fail.

Well, nothing small, but overtly lying about anything serious is the immediate dealbreaker for me (something not so serious like hiding a surprise birthday party or similar is forgivable)... if she lies, I can't trust her, simple as that... and if I can't trust her, I can't really be in a relationship...

Well that happens (I would imagine) after you get to know her better. I'm talking about the point where you're just merely interested. Like if I'm looking at profiles on a dating site or something, I might see a beautiful girl who's profile sounds great, but if there are a lot of pictures of her at clubs or big parties, I lose all interest in even thinking about contacting her.

If she sounds immature, as in speaking "teenage language".

Almost no one speaks with correct grammar. I find that I spend so much time correcting their grammar in my head that I can't follow what they are saying sometimes.

I can understand being put off by an aspect of a personality, something said or done... but the sequential illogic of presuming so much about another person, or to think that there is some idealized person out there with whom you will never find fault or flaw - this I find unpleasant. *shakes head* You're going to judge the entirety of a person by their musical tastes... not so much in my world.

I wouldn't date someone who was a religious freak. If she said something like "I never miss church", and meant it, I would know that there was little, to no, chance of it ever working.

What's wrong with clubs and parties?

I've generally found most parties and some (but not all) clubs to be basically enjoyable.

if a guy got turned off by my liking of rap I'd think he's a shallow as*hole.

deal breakers for me
bigotry of all flavours(all the isms, although outright misanthropy is fine)
Inability to spot life's absurdities
Creationists and prolifers (not even worth getting into argueing)
herd mentality.(eg mainstream only music and literary tastes)

And I wouldn't be me without some shallowness
so:-
baldies in denial...if it ain't growing, cut it short, a ponytail doesn't compensate for a shiny pate
Poor hygiene (i have an over acute sense of smell- I can't help it)
ultra tight trousers (and other outbreaks of fashion victimhood)
Bad (or absent) dentistry...

However, things that always *interest*
tattoos (particularly calf/forearms....almost porn for me)
nice aftershave
borderline obsessive pan genre music taste
dry humour
well read (and not just sci fi/Bukowski)
Practical skills...nothing like watching carpentry in action......

For me it's smoking. I personally cannot stand it. If I see a girl take out a cigarette, I think, "forget her". It just changes my whole impression on her. I'll admit, I can be judgmental but it's one of my pet peeves I can't help.

but then again, that's because I've got about 12 jobs to do in church on sunday mornings...

Well, I don't know about Bataar, but in my experience a woman that goes out clubbing all the time is either going to drag her boyfriend along or end up hooking up with another guy while there. If I had a girlfriend, I wouldn't mind her going out, as long as she didn't do either of those things...
