My dad's side of the family is Romaniote (Jews from Greece) not Sephardic though who are the jews who came to greece after the spanish inquisition but the jews who were already in greece. here is a wikipedia article on them

because i do not want to fall in love with Christians or Muslims, not becaues i hate them, because dating with a non Jewish girl would be likely to cause anti Semitism, if i marry a muslim, i would have to convert to Islam, If I marry a Christian, i would have to convert to Chrisitanity. i do not want to lose my identity, plus i am trying to improve relationships with Chrisitans and Muslims.

This point is entirely legitimate. Religious differences can be devastating in a marriage if both partners are deeply committed to their religions, especially when there's children involved.

I think Lacon was not being racist but only realistic, maybe he's a radical jew and so he won't accept the civil marriage as the only marriage , if he wants to religiously marry a non-Jew girl then one of them have to convert to the religion of the other.
