What I can't understand is how people ever make the mistake of drinking too much & getting sick more than once.

I have known many people for whom it is a routine part of the experience - "It's just the price you pay for having a good time."

How can getting sick be fun? I just don't get it.

High school: Because of either peer pressure or bored.

College: Party time!! !!

After college, the drinking normally goes down.

I actually have no problem with people drinking and getting drunk in-and-of itself my father is a biker, and he and his friends get together and drink the difference is they have a sense of a time and place, moderation, and generally responsible attitude about it.

now modern high Scholl student do it because they are put simply idiots, seriously every idiot in my high school would rant about the "Stupid S%^& they did last night like an achievement, and were already morons to begin with they fell into the mindless minions and the leader mind set in terms of their groups, and the girls we’re make up obsessed, OC loving, unintelligent , and generally Bitchy category. don’t get me wrong a few of those guys I actually got a long with and was generally on friendly terms with but the rest I completely couldn’t stand .As far as universities go while their are exceptions again it's seems to be an extension of the high school logic. the idea of alcohol is to loosen you up just a bit not turn you into a raving idiot a lot of party goers in the high school/college scene these days seem to forget that it seems

people are insecure and need to hide it with booze
many people have no interests or creativity so they just drink all the time as a social activity

People say it goes down after college... for some yes. Many people go through life not knowing how to socialize sober, or meet people outside of bars. Sad. Most NT people are pretty dumb and ignorant though, everyone here must know that by know.

It's the "forbidden fruit" aspect of it.

I personally don't drink. Knowing the s**t it's done on both sides of my family I don't f*****g want to.

Risk taking [including drinking excessively] in adolescents/young adults is an important part of development. It is important for establishing boundaries, finding out what you like and don't like and developing your own identity...as well as probably a few others.
This is not my theory. It has been scientifically proven.

I think though, that why a lot of teens/young adults choose to drink in excess out of a choice of many other risks, is because they can do this with others. It's a common risk.

It's fun, sometimes euphoric, lowers inhibitions and generally smooths over social interaction. Basically it kills boredom and gets you in the party mood. Plus the buzzed feeling is great. Trust me I used to be skeptical, until my friend got me drunk. And my teachers often joke about wanting a 2-4(of beer). I can sometimes reach near NT level of social skills when I'm at the 2-4 level drinks level (after that I make a fool of myself, so thats the sweet spot). But always keep it to moderation its more fun that way. Actually one of teachers said that drinking is only fun underage.
