What's the first thing that you think when you see a guy wearing spiked or studded jewelry (bracelets)? Do you find them weird, gothic, creepy, what? Post your reactions.

I actually don't judge. I judge more on their face, and how they move, to see if they're nice. I've met some nice people that look "creepy".

I wonder how they avoid injury. I tried wearing one, but I kept accidentally scratching myself. So rather than thinking they are making a silly fashion statement, I admire their coordination. Unless, of course, they look like a clawed animal has been affectionate with their face :P

When I see black studded leather jewelry on a person, I think, "Oh. How practical. Black goes with everything, leather doesn't irritate sensitive skin the way some metals can, and yet the studs are sufficiently shiny..."

When I see Spiky bracelets on somebody, my brain goes, "Chun Li!"

My initial reaction is...ooh...interesting.

Apparently, jewelerry is a form of self expression...so I guess wearing a spiked bracelet is expressing something? :?

well, depending of the context and combination its worn in, the type of bracelet or collar, judgements range from metalhead over mallgoth to 'coooool!'. its not the item, its how you wear it...

of course, studded chokers are one of the easiest and often first items either young goths or goth trendhoppers acquire, but that doesnt make this item a mallgoth exclusive.

I almost bought one one time, but then I thought about how it would look. It was a black leather collar with a ring on the front of it and quite a bit of metal on it. I thought that I'd look cool (maybe even sexy) wearing it. I didn't buy it, though; I thought that I might get strange looks and I didn't want to alienate my peers. Should I even worry about that? Because I've developed a philosophy that if you wear "different" clothes or behave in a "different" manner, then only the people who truly see you for who you are will talk to you. That's my theory, sorry to sound preachy.
