I was talking to my wife on the phone while eating lunch a little while ago. She had to go take care of the kid, so we hung up. The next thing I remember was I had finished my lunch and had no clear recollection of the past few minutes. I have no idea what my wife and I were talking about. I have some vague image of talking to some coworkers, but again I don't know what about or even if it really happened (I've run into that before too.) Its rather annoying. Anyone else experience this sort of thing?

It happens everyday, but it is more frequent when I am anxious.

I experience time lapses once in a while.

Most recently, I "came to" while driving and could not remember making a left turn through a busy intersection only a few minutes before.

I didn't like that feeling...

Thats happened to me.

I was navagating a cloverleaf highway exchange....a mile or so down the road I realized I have absolutely no recollection at all of getting on/off the highway.
Rather freaky.

But I don't think it's all that uncommon more most people to experience it at least once. I think it's refered to as auto-pilot.

Happens to me all the time, and to NT's I think.

If you ask someone what you were talking about in a conversation five minutes ago it's likely they wont remember. At least not right at once.

Is this like how I take a 30 min. walk to somewhere and when I arrive to my destination, I forget what occured during the whole journey itself? Yes, happens to me all the time. :)

The problem sounds like difficulty with moving things from short term to long term memory. Happens to me all the time. With everybody posting, it sounds like we are pretty normal, doesn't it?
