I could do with a friend or three. I'm feeling very disconnected these days - I haven't 'outed' myself as having Aspergers and there doesn't seem to be anyone around who 'understands' regardless. And I feel a little disconnected from the AS community here, and the couple of people at uni with me who have AS. I mean, I share their loneliness and frustration, but (at the risk of sounding arrogant or rude) I feel like I can manage a bit better too. I have friends, but I don't have anyone I can *really* talk to, and who gets it.

Long speeches aside, if anyone is interested in a chat about whatever then I'd enjoy it. If it matters, I'm Australian (yeah, sorry lol) - in Victoria, studying Psychology at Uni, male and 20. Oh and don't worry, this isn't one of those corny dating-type posts. Anyway, let me know. I have facebook and msn - you know, the usual.

Hey there, 23 yo male working in public service in Melbourne, finished my Writing degree last year. I get what you mean with the disconnection thing. I'm a high functioning AS, so it sometimes feels that I don't have 'the full experience' (for want of a better term) which makes me feel that I won't understand some of the conversations on here (I'm not a active poster). That, said I reckon all us aspies have different strengths and weaknesses.

Enjoy your uni days. for me they were the best days of my life, its a unique lifestyle.

I'm from NSW too. The South Coast area. I don't study or work, but I'm on the disability employment network so maybe I can get a job through that.

I'm sure we did a who's Aussie thread not long ago.

Anyway ... Swan Hill for me, but trying to make the move to somewhere around Warragul as soon as possible. Get to Melbourne about once a month at present.
