My aesthetics are gothic and punk by and large. I like early industrial, new wave music, and God Speed You Black Emperor. Since a child I have been obsessed with Halloween and dark things, and this was even before when my childhood started to get messed up. It was an aspiration of mine to be "goth" in High School but being an aspie I just don't jell well with cliques, and plus there is a lot BS in it. I even have a hard time trying to belong in groups who represent political causes to which I passionately believe. The closest thing to me dressing "goth" would be wearing an old Bahaus t-shirt and jeans, also I like some things that aren't horrific. But, if you want to chat on the basis of someone who loves dark music, films, art, and film then I'm for it.

How early do you like your industrial? Throbbing Gristle early or Skinny Puppy early?

The industrial of the 80's and 90's. Skinny Puppy is one of my all time favorite bands and I definitely recommend them leespike. They sort of established a lot of ground in terms of style and performance and were also very political. Their final album with the original trio, The Process, is really awesome. I also love Ministry, The Revolting Cocks, Atari Teenage Riot, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Front 242, Front Line Assembley, and Pigface. I used to like NIN, but not so much any more except for a few tracks. As for as Throbbing Gristle, I know they started the whole deal and keep meaning to buy an album and listen to it sometime, which I need to do with some other bands as well.

I'm 28, AS and really appreciate the gothic aesthetic (e.g. I'm fan of artists like Luis Royo and Victoria Frances and I used to hang out in metal bars, gothic bars and the über-Gothic EBM/neo-folk scene) but I wouldn't consider myself a typical Goth as I don't dress goth or surround myself with gothic stuff (although I do have stuff like an "Edward Scissorhands" and "The Crow" action figure, a plastic vampire skull and a bunch of jarred dead animals lying around).

I label myself a buttload of things for fun and profit.

I don't generally accept any label except the one
I think is fitting, fun, or cool for me, so I label
myself for fun.

I am hard to change, so I probably will stick
with Doomer rather than goth, but my labels
are Catlover first, then Nerd, then technician,
then "Stuck at 7 Kid".
