Being a Boy Scout was very important to me. Some of the best times of my life happened while in Scouting. I've tried to live my life according to the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Here's mine.

Don't smoke and don't drink.

Always support my hobby by buying the DVDs, video games, etc.

Live the way I want to live, not the way everyone else wants me to live.

To respect others before gaining respect.

Never take more than you are willing to give
Extremism affects judgment
The boundaries designed to protect men divide them
Laugh amidst the dust and cobwebs
Empowerment over entitlement - earn it

1.) Remember the humanity in others.
2.) Be prepared to admit defeat.
3.) Enjoy everything.

Some of the codes and principles I TRY TO live by :

"Don't dream your life, live your dream"

"Live and let live"

"By thyself"

"Don't worry, be happy"

"All things are subject to interpretation and whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth."

"There are two histories : official history, lying, and then secret history, where you find the real causes of events"

"If you are afraid to speak against tyranny, then you are already a slave."

"a young person who isn't a liberal has no heart, and an old person who isn't a conservative has no brain."

"I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few."

"Religion is the impotence of the human mind to deal with occurances it cannot understand."

"All paid jobs absorb and degrade the mind."

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

"People are like books, and the world is like a library. Some believe that it is important to be known with the most possible people, and have what we call superficial relationships with mass amounts of people. If you go in a library it's not important to see the cover of the most possible books, what you will learn if to get out a pair of interesting books and take a good amount of time to read them. Those who want to know the most possible only see the cover of many books, maybe they get as far as a few pages through the books, but they never get to read some of them. So there is actually no point in finding the books in the 1st place."

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

"Knowledge is power."

"Happiness is not having what you want, it's wanting what you have"

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature."

"Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish."

"Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are not even capable of forming such opinions."

"Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something."

"I cannot believe in a God who wants to be praised all the time."

"A man who won't die for something is not fit to live."

I don't really have a "code" I guess. One of the big things in the New Covenant is freedom anyway :)

But I guess it would be "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."

"Humanity, is for the weak."

Here is an incomplete list.

Avoid lieing (unless if you deem it wise)
I personally hate inaccurate and incorrect information. I'm almost destructively honest.

Question everything. Even yourself!
Also question your parents. "why should I do this? what are the long term effects? What are the goals?" (maybe a bad idea)
I observed when I forced myself to be some way, It didn't work out.

Pay attention to your emotions
Mostly theoretical, I have come to the conclusion that they are important.

If you are going to be impolite, tell the other person beforehand (probably a bad code)
I just value a sense of order

Strive for more accurate and factual information, not what some guy says.
Question science. I just am questioning.

Resist facades
I guess it's an extension of a desire to be truthful

Resist traditions.
I think that I must be apart from everyone to be "mentally free"

Always be reasonable, or logical.
Or at least try

Abide by the greatness and complexity of reality
It gives you more options I suppose. It is also more accurate to consider this. I have a hard time implementing well too.
(conflicts with perfectionism inside me)

Respect other people
I like it when I'm respected, so if I respect, they will respect back.

Nurture a desire to be curious
This is why I fear schooling

Have "information responsibility" AKA don't judge
I don't like to spill secrets. Or to let what I hear influence me too much.

Live long for your family will enjoy that
I get bummed out when a family member dies, I don't want to upset them by dieing early!

deceive no one.-con no one
Extension of honesty. I also think it ends up with people mistrusting others. (long term consequences)

Avoid perfection (made up)
It seems to create more problems than I can handle. This is also an old compulsion

Try and get out of the house
Can you guys help? :(

Behave honourably, even when no one else does;

Try not to be a nasty snob;

Love anyway;

Newtons third Law of Motion "To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction";

and........“Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” Taoist Proverb

my code?

never see yourself as disabled, because if you do, you will be (a disability is only a disability if you let it be)

"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's Heaven on Earth." -Mark Twain

if you can't find the words, use music, because music transcends all things

learn to forgive, and if you cannot forgive, try to forget

That's just horrible advice, especially for us Aspies. Dancing like no one is watching looks ret*d, singing like no one is listening looks pretty silly and loving like you've never been hurt makes you weak, needy and unstable. Both my friends and my experience have taught me to do the exact oposite, although it's quite hard not to love someone all the way.

What if you work until you nearly drop dead and you still don't succeed?!?

Working hard increases your chances of success, but by no means is it a guarantee.

i don't dance if anyone is watching, even though my friends have told me i'm not bad -.-'
the singing part is because, again according to my friends, i'm incredible and i need to be more confident
and loving like you've never been hurt just means don't let your past effect your present
