I got 64 - high Mach.

I expected to be a really low Mach, but can understand how I got a high score. Life experiences over the past couple of years especially have made me more cynical. A lot of Aspies ARE very Machiavellian for similar reasons. Or maybe some have been told in the past they're so naive, innocent etc. that they work on changing it and become more Machiavellian.

Your right, you are absolutely right! Throughout my childhood my parents kept saying I was guillible, vunerable, trusting, and I didn't think before I said things; code for: I'm too honest. I HATED those qualities, it made me feel weak and stupid! I wanted to be cunning, charismatic, and swaying. I desired these qualities because I wanted respect and to be admired by my peers!

Well, what works and what's right are two different things IMO. If I took the test completely as agreeing that yes, flattering important people will reap benefits, then my score would be much higher. I was interested to read that "The Prince" was de rigueur reading for the neocon bunch.

Your Machiavelli score is: 74

"high Mach", you endorse Machiavelli's opinions.

Having never read any of his work, I can't say if I do or don't.

Most people fall somewhere in the middle, but there's a significant minority at either extreme.

I'm a 55, and I'm surprised that this article is from 1999 and the web site still claims it's in beta.

The test doesn't explain the result very well, and I have no idea what Machiavelli's philosophy is. Some of those questions implicated themes I generally don't agree with/practice.

When the test says, "Most people are brave," "Most people are basically good and kind," "Most people who get ahead in the world lead clean, moral lives," etc., is it OK for me to disagree because I think everybody (not more, not less) is neutral? I mean, population changes and I can't generalize with the minimal knowledge of people I know about. Also I do not believe that anybody is inherently "good" or "moral" or "evil" or whatever.

60--average mach

I checked it after the fact too and 60 is literally the only score that falls into the "average mach" category--apparently 59 is "low" and 61 is "high".

Awesome
