Why no e-mail reply from my last teacher?

Aah... I e-mailed a teacher I had two years ago, but she doesn't reply to it!
I wrote: "Hello (teacher's name). How was your day? From Lina", and she has been online many times!
Is it wrong to write these sort of things? Does she ignore me?
Feels like I've been doing another mistake.

Lina, I'm a high school teacher and I'm in email contact with many of my students and former students. I can tell you that most teachers do like their students very much. However, because you are very young and still at school, and because she is no longer your teacher, there may be rules about how she can communicate with you outside school hours. She probably isn't allowed to communicate with you on a site like Facebook, for example- teachers can get into trouble for having personal relationships with students outside school. Ask your parents or one of your current teachers about the situation and see what they think. I'm sure your former teacher still remembers you and likes you, though. Best wishes, Jenny

Well first of all, she might not have checked her email, so give her some time.

Though I won't lie, it's rather strange to just email someone, especially a teacher, out of the blue and act like you see her everyday. People don't usually send personal emails to teachers, especially to ones from 2 years back. No offense, but she might have forgotten who you were, so what's she supposed to say to a stranger?

You probably shouldn't have made your email so casual. Try writing something like Hello [teacher's name], this is Lina [last name]. I was in your class two years ago. Do you remember me?

That's what I would have done, at least.

So maybe she forgot to reply, or forgot about you, or doesn't want to reply.
It doesn't really matter.
Don't worry about it, just let it be.

One thing I would suggest is that if she does not reply to your email, DO NOT send her another one.

If she has forgotten me, she has a really bad ability to remember!

Thank you for answering. Now I realize that it was an awkward e-mail.
But my little sister sent an e-mail for this teacher a year ago, and it took half a year before she got any reply. I'm waiting with patient.
Edit: After all, my sister wrote: "Hi, it's (sister's name). Do you remember me? I hope you are good. Regards from (sister's name)."
My sister knows something I don't know!
