I really don't know why people want to "embrace" their differences, when we as a species are supposed to fit in with the pack. I want to fit in, I want to be like everyone else... I want to be normal. Must be nice not caring what people think of you.

We embrace our differences because we have no other choice but to live with it. Would you want to live in a world where everyone is the same? It gets kind of boring anyway.

I'd love to live in a world where I can fit in with people easily. Anti-conformism is vastly overrated.

I agree with *vikingsteve*
I just get told I'm weird, a freak, out of the box, special, etc so often, that you'd think I'd get used to it.
But do we, really?

Not everybody gets use to it but their isn't anything they or I can do about it. They can't control your life and neither can I. The way I see it Conformity and anti-conformity are here for good reasons, so you can choose which one is comfortable for you. Plus do you ever wonder if those who called you weird ever appreciated their life and do they really know you that well unless their your friends? Someone once told me "If you don't love yourself, then you can't love anybody". Nobody's perfect. 8)

Much of the world thinks that I am weird; I think that their behavior is bafflingly strange. We agree to differ.

Thanks, PHISHA51.
Do people give you weird looks the moment you greet them?
I'm trying to view that as more annoying than offensive.

Gee, weird looks because we're autistic...

I'm also transgender. I think people have a "good" reason to give me a weird look. :P

I agree with PHISHA51's position.

I get called weird all the time and I get alot of weird looks (mostly in college) but it never seems to bother me, but it did back then.
It's something I just have to live with really.

I don't really focus too much on that.

Usually I don`t mind people calling me weird, because I know I am.

You're welcome Claire Louise. I can't remember getting weird looks when I greet someone, but somewhere in my life I've had gotten weird looks. I do agree with you though that it is more annoying then offensive. Usually most people like to say hello and greet each other. In your case, it could be the shallow people that your greeting. I honestly don't know why they give you strange looks when you greet them. Ain't nothing weird about that cause most people do it anyway.

I sometimes like being called weird, because from what I know from the boys in my class's personalities, it means I'm intelligent, deep, complex, and kind (they, on the other hand...not really). Other times, I feel insecure because I'm the only one interested in psychology and morality, and even though anime is popular, I'm the only one interested in it.

It works both ways.

I take it as a compliment, even if it's meant as an insult. :alien:
