I have been driving since I was 15 and got my license when I was almost 17.

I think I have always done good driving despite not knowing distance and kids used to tell me I almost hit another car or them so that's how I realized I had that issue. I tend to drive defensively because I don't want to get into a car wreck. You're supposed to do defensive driving. I also don't go looking for things as I am driving. I also don't like eating as I drive. I have ate as I drove before but I prefer to eat indoors if I stop for food. I also run yellow lights after they change from green to yellow when I am up at the enter section because I will not slam on my breaks and get rear ended. I heard you can get a ticket for that but I don't care because I think it's bogus. If there is a car behind me, I will keep going because I don't want that fella to crash into me. That's what I would tell the judge if I got a ticket. Sure the person behind you may always be at fault in my state but I don't want to lose my car if it got totaled because I can't afford a new one. I don't even know if I get money from the insurance just so I can get another car that doesn't cost more than how much I have. I don't want to take chances. Does the state expect us to slam on our breaks right when the light turns yellow when you are at the enter section or few feet behind the crosswalk? What about if there was a car not too far behind you?

But I hate driving in rush hour because some people get impatient they cut you off or switch lanes when they aren't supposed to. I try and avoid it as much as I can.

I have done a few driving errors myself. If I am waiting to get onto the road, I look in the rear view mirror to see if there is anyone behind me because I do not like it when people follow after me when I get on the road because what if I have to slam on my breaks because I see a car coming, they will crash into me. When I am waiting behind a car and the all of a sudden take off to get on the road, I don't take off fast after them too for that same reason. But one time I didn't even look in my mirror so I didn't know someone was behind me so I got rear ended and the lady said it was my fault. Her son was doing the driving, not her. That was one of my errors there myself.

I used to take public transportation more when I first moved here but now I take my car now because it's faster to get to places and back. I only take it to work now and back because it be cheaper than using my car and park it two blocks away at the mall so waiting 25 minutes for the bus is worth it than having to fill my car up more often. I pay 26 bucks now for the pass than 77. Only twice have I driven to work because the bus didn't come one time and the other time I wanted to get a book from Barnes & Noble so I took my car to work and parked it there where the bookstore is. I think I have gotten dependent on my car again because I now don't want to wait for buses anymore and trains wasting my free time. But I always take the bus downtown so I don't have to pay for parking. I have a bus pass so I will mind as well use the bus.

I can drive but I'm not a good driver. people tell me I am not paying attention, but I am usually paying attention to something else, like which side of the street has the best trees. I have wrecked every car I own and totaled three of them . I took me 5 tries to get my driver's license. Sometimes I think I should not drive, but i have to get to work and public transportation isn't an option.

I've had my driving licence for 6 years now, no accidents and i LOVE driving and everything cars related. Just keep an eye on your situational awareness, safety distance and speed. Driving is like a chess game or math, same skills. All logic and zero emotions. If you let emotions guide you, you make mistakes that can lead to accidents.

I drive fine, and I notice a lot of people drive worst than I do on the road. That being said, a few days after I got my license and started driving, I got in a fender bender making a left on a 4 lane road during rush hour. I had to match up two gaps in traffic on both sides of the road. I took my risk with less of a gap in front, and a larger gap on the far end. Anyway, the edge of my fender got tore up by a car on the left lane from the oncoming traffic from the side of the road closest to me. It wasn't entirely my fault, according to witnesses, but because I was the one making the active move, and they were just passively going on their way, its hard to prove whether they were speeding or not. They were coming down a hill, though. So that might explain the increased speed.

I'm still unable to drive. Whenever I start to have lessons it goes okay for a while... then the stress gets too much, and I become dangerous on the road. But that might not be the aspie thing... it could be the schizoaffective bipolar thing.

I have AS and it took longer than average for me to get my license. I was almost 18 when I took the driving test. I'm good now but driving used to scare me so much that I'd create some excuse as to why I couldn't go out and practice with my mom. I'd purposely create some diversion without really knowing I did. Now I just freak out if I'm not driving on the same route that I always do or if I go into unknown territory.

I drove yesterday for two hours, in a manual car, and did it just fine. Didn't even stall it once and actually managed to drive smoothly.

And to think, I'm not even old enough to get a license yet! :D

I can drive pretty well, but I hate doing it. I purposely haven't gotten my license, because I don't want to drive. It's exhausting for me and I have a hard time remembering left from right so I get lost quite often when I drive. I really prefer to walk. D:

I can drive VERY well. Everyone that has been in the car with me has commented that I'm one of the safest drivers they have ever rode with. I just... hate doing it. It's like... I dunno. I know I could get my license. I wish that I would just suck it up and get it. I'm eighteen. It just makes me feel even more different not having it, especially because it's makes it seem like I'm too stupid to drive. Like I said, I can drive... :(
