Yeah I really find it uncomfortable, and people keep telling me to call them.

Yes!! I can't stand the phone. Talking on it always makes me irritable and impatient to hang up.

I hate talking on the phone, too. Even with family and friends. It's just...uncomfortable, and I'm not very good at it. This is weird because in my teens I liked talking on the phone and would do so for hours, and I don't remember feeling weird about it. It's likely my phone skills have devolved as I've quit talking on the phone as much.

I also have to practice phone conversations in my head before I make calls or I totally mess up. Sometimes I mess up even when I practice--my phone skills can be kind of hit or miss. I get so caught up thinking about what I just said or what I should say next that I end up sounding awkward. Of course, I come across this way in person, too, so it's not really a stretch that I'm awkward on the phone.

I have a hard time understanding what other people are saying, and the sound distortion caused by the phone only makes it worse. I prefer to communicate via text. Real-time conversations also don't allow me the time to carefully plan my responses, whereas text conversations do.

I usually dislike talking on the phone, unless it's me who's initiating the phone call for various inquiries.

I dislike talking on the phone because the conversation is in real time, and it's harder for me to figure out when the person has finished their turn talking. And often the phone is ringing when I'm doing something that I enjoy.

I much prefer people to email or SMS me instead as I can spend more time creating a more coherent response, and I have a clear record of what has been communicated.

I used to really hate it. I'm kind of over the anxiety of not knowing what to say when I'm on the phone so the other person seems to hurry and hangs up soon. It's actually not so bad anymore.

i hate talking on the phone even to my mom or sister. i just hate calling them or calling random people for random things at random times. i sometimes make things harder for myself because of my absolute fear/dislike of talking on the phone. depending on the necessity of the situation/need, i will ignore talking on the phone so much that i will forget about what the reason is for to be calling people on the phone. im kinda embarrassed about it but luckily i dont have too many people to say this to to be really embarrassed about it.

I hate talking on the phone. I can talk to my mother and a few of her friends on the phone. Other than that, I can't handle talking on the phone.

I hate having to use my mobile phone and getting a call at any time, which might mean having to have a private conversation in public which I find awkward.

I do, unless it's to my husband. I really, really avoid the phone as much as possible, including at work. Even if it's my best friend or other family members - I hate, hate, hate using the phone.

Yeah, not a fan of talking on the phone. I prefer face to face conversation, text messages, and other electronic communication.

Same here.

I had a job about 1,5 years ago where all I did was talking in the phone with people. It was the worst thing I've experienced and I felt worse and worse every day. I stopped going to work more and more and finally I had to quit. I'm not sure I've recovered still. :(
